Crane wheels. Production

A crane is a device that helps to move loads. As a rule, cranes are widely used in various fields of industry, for example, in heavy engineering, metallurgy, shipbuilding and many others. This device works in several stages.

Principle of operation

The first stage is to capture the cargo, then it is transported to the desired location, and then the final process is the return of all mechanisms to their original position for the subsequent movement of other goods. It consists of a crane installation made of structural steel (lattice or box section), a gripping mechanism that includes pliers, an electromagnet, a spreader, and also a lifting device. Depending on what type of crane is used, there are several ways to move it.

Types of mechanisms

Transport mechanisms that have a rail track. This category includes cantilever, portal, railway and gantry cranes. Their use occurs under limited conditions, which is why their exploitation in engineering, as well as in the maintenance of hydroelectric power stations and workshops, is connected. The rail mechanism includes a rail track and a crane wheel, due to which the crane moves. This is a very important detail.

Crane wheels

This is the basic part of the whole mechanism. Like other parts, they require replacement. A regular load of several tons can deform the beams in the place where the wheels are fastened. This can lead to breakage of the flanges. The flanges are the protruding edges of the wheel rim that hold the rig on the rails. In addition, their deformation can lead to wear and tear. The transport mechanisms used in hinged gearboxes are prone to distortion of low-speed shafts due to the high volume of loads. The crane wheel is manufactured in three types: single-board, bezborordnoe and double-board. The difference is in the form of a transverse cut, where there can be one, two protrusions or they may be absent altogether. Also, the crane wheels are divided according to the shape of the rim.

The shape can be cylindrical or conical. Crane wheels are produced both from standard billets and according to individual sizes required by a particular customer. The width of the rolling surface is calculated from the fact that it is several centimeters greater than the width of the rails. This is necessary for the normal movement of the crane on rails, where later deformation may appear.

Standards

Crane wheels are made of high-strength steel grade 65G GOST 14959-79. After that, they are sorbitized to increase strength, as well as increase resistance to high loads. For this, special equipment is used, which makes it possible to fulfill the most complex customer requirements, as well as implement the newest technologies for metal processing. This allows us to produce truly high-quality products.
