Welding waterproofing: technology, materials

As you know, groundwater can destructively affect the base of the building. Moisture after contact with the material will penetrate into its structure, and then freeze and thaw when the temperature changes. In this case, water particles will destroy the fragments of the foundation. In a few years of such exploitation, the foundation of the building may become unfit for use, after which the whole building will collapse. In order to avoid such negative consequences, it is possible to use the method of waterproofing, however it is important to choose the right material and apply it by technology.

Substrate protection materials

Welded waterproofing can be an excellent solution for protecting the foundations of buildings. Moreover, this method is one of the most effective, and this result was achieved thanks to the appearance in the construction market of roll materials, which are reinforced with polyester and have high tensile strength. If we compare them with roofing felt or roofing felt, the former are not putrefied, characterized by higher water repellency characteristics and a long service life. The most common surfacing materials for waterproofing are: "Izoplast", "Mostoplast", "Ecoflex", "Technoelast", they are manufactured in Russia, but you can pick up products from other manufacturers. For example, "Aquaizol" and "Spoilizol" are produced in Ukraine. More expensive, but no less qualitative are the Italian "Testo", as well as "Cheerastopley." As the basis of these coatings are synthetic products such as polyester, fiberglass and fiberglass. The welded waterproofing is installed on the foundation in two layers. The material will protect the surface from water, and when backfilling it is necessary to exclude the mechanical effect on the surface of the waterproofing. Such a protection can act geomembrane.

Recommendations

For waterproofing works, it is recommended to use materials that are resistant to corrosion. You can use rubber-bitumen mastic, which is the primary protection, or materials for secondary protection. In the latter case, the surface is pasted with roll material, and it is recommended to do this at the stage of solidification of concrete, when the construction of the walls has not yet begun.

Waterproofing waterproofing mark "Tehnonikol"

The surfaced waterproofing "Technonikol" is on the market in a wide range, you can learn this material on the following markings: "Solo", "Vent" and "Technoelast". A cheaper version is Bikrost. However, any of these materials will help to waterproof the foundation as high as possible. The products are divided into Premium, Business, Standard and Economy classes. Among the first are "Technoelast" and "Vestoplast", which are bitumen-polymer materials produced from high-quality raw materials. With the help of such waterproofing it is possible to protect the foundation from groundwater, and the material can be operated in difficult conditions.

Use of liquid waterproofing for flooring

Liquid waterproofing can be represented by rubber, which is applied by hand. This eliminates the need to consult specialists. On the floor and walls with the help of liquid rubber, you can create a hydro-barrier, this applies to bathrooms, bathrooms and adjoining rooms. Thus, it will be possible to protect the concrete surface from destruction. If liquid waterproofing is applied to the surface of a large area, then a method of spraying a bitumen-polymer bicomponent composition can be used. This involves the use of special equipment. If you want to process small areas of the floor, you can apply a one-component composition by hand. Bitumen-polymer composition is made on a water basis and has no smell, it is environmentally friendly for animals and people, and also does not cause allergic reactions. The concrete base must be prepared, for this purpose the screed is poured or the surface is simply leveled. The base is cleaned of dust and dirt, and then you can start applying bitumen-polymer soil, which will increase the adhesion of liquid rubber. The waterproofing device in the next stage provides for waiting two hours after priming, only then you can start applying liquid rubber, which is distributed with a brush or spatula. The layer should not only be on the floor surface, but also go to the walls, the height from the border of the junction should be 20 cm. The consumption of the material when applying the mixture in the bathroom will be approximately 3 liters per square meter. After the polymerization of the rubber is completed, what happens in about 48 hours, you can equip a thin screed.

Technology of using a roll-welded waterproofing in the foundation area

Before starting the work, the foundation must be cleaned of small particles, contamination and cement milk. Sharp edges and corners must be cut so that they do not damage the material. A primer is applied to the substrate. With the help of this layer, it will be possible to increase the adhesion characteristics of the waterproofed waterproofing. Moreover, this mixture contains the remaining fine dust and will fill the pores and microcracks, strengthening the surface. The waterproofing to be welded should be applied to the surface protected by the primer, which will favorably affect the speed of work. After 24 hours, the surface can still remain sticky, the drying time of the formulation will depend on the external conditions and the primer variety.

The welded material should be heated in the back side area, using a blowtorch or gas burner. During the work, the waterproofing material should be pressed to the base, gradually unwinding it.

Methods of work

If the welded waterproofing is strengthened on vertical surfaces, then the roll must be rolled up from the bottom, while the webs should be placed horizontally. If you want to lay them whole, then you can use a mechanical feed through the block system. The lower web should be overlapped by the top one by 100 mm or more. But the surface should be covered to a height of 300 to 500 mm above the ground. Welded waterproofing, the installation technology which requires the attachment of the upper part to the cap mechanically, is the most effective. If horizontal and vertical waterproofing were used in the complex, then the canvases must be combined. The docking areas should be additionally covered with roll material, the width of which is 300 mm, this reinforcement is necessary when gluing the material to complex areas by the type of internal and external corners, as well as the places of commissioning of engineering communications.

Installation of waterproofing on the roof surface

Roofing materials for roofing are also used quite often today. This technology is used in all regions of Russia, especially in areas with a harsh climate. When repairing the old coating, it is necessary to apply the deposited roofing in one layer. If the device of waterproofing is conducted for the first time, then two rows can not be avoided. The material preheated by a pre- propane burner is laid on the plane . There is another option for installation, which consists in gluing the first layer with mastic or mechanically.

Conclusion

It is noteworthy that the roll waterproofing for the foundation can be arranged both in the new and the old building. However, it will be a little more difficult afterwards to do this work, because you have to dig a trench, and then clean the surface of the base from dirt and soil.
