Biography

The future ballerina Ulyana Lopatkina was born in 1973, on October 23rd. Her parents were teachers. She also has a younger brother named Eugene. The birthplace of the artist is the city of Kerch, Crimea. All her childhood passed on the shore of the Black Sea. Even in early childhood, the parents gave the girl to the ballet. Ulyana Lopatkina studied in choreographic circles, as well as in the gymnastics section. She got an education at the Academy of Russian Ballet named after Agrippina Yakovlevna Vaganova. Was engaged in the class of Professor N. Dudinskaya. In her student years she won her first prize in the field of ballet.

Since 1991 she is an actress of the Mariinsky Theater. Here, Ulyana's educators were such outstanding personalities as Ninel Alexandrovna Kurgapkina and Olga Nikolaevna Moiseeva.

After 4 years of hard work became prima. Her debut was Odile / Odette in Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake, which brought her first success. The actress was highly appreciated by critics and fell in love with the public. To date, the wonderful teacher Irina Chistyakova works with the ballerina. In 2013, Nikolai Tsiskaridze was appointed rector of the Academy of Ballet named after A. Ya. Vaganova. To the post of hudruk he recommended to take Ulyana. But for some reason, the ballerina never signed a contract with the academy.

In 2001, Ulyana was married. Her husband was a businessman and writer Vladimir Kornev. In 2002, the couple had a daughter named Maria. In 2010, the couple divorced. Now, apart from his career, Ulyana is actively involved in charity. She heads the Board of Trustees of the Foundation for the Prevention of Cancer.

For the years of her creative activity, Ulyana Lopatkina has worked not only on the stage of the Mariinsky Theater, where she is the ballerina. In the year 2010 the ballerina took part in the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Canada. In 2011, London hosted a gala concert dedicated to the memory of the great ballerina Galina Ulanova. Ulyana took part in it.
