History

The "Tabakerka" theater, photo of the building of which is presented in this article, began its existence in 1978. Its creators - the actor and director О.P. Tabakov and the artist D. Borovsky. It was they who found the basement for the theater in an apartment building on Chaplygin Street. Pupils and teachers of the workshop of Oleg Pavlovich in GITIS cleansed themselves of garbage and painted the future shelter. The hall was very small, it included only 10 rows. Originally it was a theatrical studio, which was headed by Oleg Tabakov. Then it changed its name. Turned to the theater "Tabakerka".

The troupe was defined in 1974. It was then that Oleg Pavlovich chose teenagers to study in his studio. The children were trained according to the program of the theatrical high school, they were taught several subjects: the stage movement, acting skills, sketches, speech, etc.

The most talented students O. Tabakov invited to his first year at GITIS. It was these graduates who formed the first troupe of "Tabakerka". Among them were Elena Mayorova, Andrei Smolyakov, Sergey Gazarov, Larisa Kuznetsova, Igor Nefyodov and others.

The first performance of "Snuffbox" was staged according to the play "And in the spring I will return to you ...". The young team immediately became popular. The audience fell in love with him. But the Soviet government remained indifferent to him. The theater was refused all requests. As a result, the artists wandered around the scenic stages. As a result, Oleg Pavlovich was forced to attach his actors to different theaters of the capital. After that he scored in GITIS second course of students. Of these, the second troupe was formed.

Theater "Tabakerka" returned to its basement. Rehearsals began with a new cast of actors. In 1987 Oleg Pavlovich Tabakov achieved the status of state for his theater. The "Tabakerka" troupe has been replenished for many years mostly by graduates of Oleg Pavlovich. So, in due time here came such personalities as Vladimir Mashkov, Sergei Bezrukov, Yevgeny Mironov, Jana Sexte, Olga Krasko and others. The first three broke into the cultural life of the country brightly, swiftly and forever.

Head of the theater

Theater "Tabakerka" was founded by his permanent artistic director, rector of the Moscow Art Theater School Anton Chekhov, People's Artist of Russia, famous actor O. P. Tabakov.

Oleg Pavlovich was born in 1935, on August 17 in the city of Saratov. His parents were doctors. Oleg Pavlovich in high school was engaged in a theatrical circle at the Palace of Pioneers. This is what influenced his choice of profession. In 1935, O. Tabakov became a student at the Moscow Art Theater School. He was one of the best on the course. The actor played the very first role in cinema while still a student. The first theater in which Oleg Pavlovich served as an actor was Sovremennik. At that time, Oleg Efremov was its leader. After the latter was transferred to the Moscow Art Theater, O. Tabakov headed Sovremennik.

In 1973, Oleg Pavlovich decided to become a teacher and train young people. As a result, O. Tabakov organized his studio.

In 2001, he received the post of artistic director in the Moscow Art Theater named after A.P. Chekhov.

Today, Oleg Pavlovich directs two theaters, starred in films, plays plays, teaches and engages in public activities.
