Theaters of Pskov: where to go

Pskov is a relatively small city, which, however, has a developed infrastructure. So, 200 thousand inhabitants have as many as three theaters, which work and delight the audience with their productions. More theaters of Pskov are described in the article.

Pskov Drama Theater. A.S. Pushkin

It is the oldest theater in the city. Its name was given in honor of the famous Russian poet, because the building of the theater was laid in the year of the 100th anniversary of his birth - in 1899. It was completed by 1906, and since then for more than a century the institution has pleased the inhabitants of Pskov.

The Pushkin Theater (Pskov) for its history served as a stage for many famous actors. So, among them you can name E.Karchagin-Aleksandrovsky, E.Vitogran and many others, even such stars as F.Shalyapin and A.Duncan acted here.

It should be noted that the theater has received many awards, and in recent years, actors have performed in many theaters not only in Russia, but also abroad.

Repertoire

The Drama Theater (Pskov) shows a lot of different productions, including comedies, melodramas, dramas and even children's fairy tales, including those based on works by A.S. Pushkin. Among the most famous comedies can be called "Clinical case" and "Man destined for happiness", and among the dramas - "Dance of Delhi" and "Four pictures of love."

Statement "Clinical case" - one of the most beloved among residents and guests of Pskov. She talks about a wealthy man, who suddenly got into trouble from all sides, both at work and in his personal life. As a result, the man had to surround himself with a halo of lies. About how it will be released, you can learn from the play.

The theater is trying to make its repertoire interesting, so in the playbill you can see performances not only for lovers of classics, but also modern plays. Thus, for example, Vasily Sigarev's work "The Ladybirds Return to the Earth" can be attributed to them. This is a play about modern life on the outskirts of a big city, in a house next to the cemetery. The gloomy atmosphere, however, does not depress, for it is here that faith in the best lives - in the ladybirds.

Another modern spectacle - "Valentine's Day". It's a sad story about how fate sometimes turns, and that we can be with those who did not expect to be around.

Puppet show

Puppet theater (Pskov) was also founded a long time ago. So, it has been operating since 1964, more than 50 years. Over the years, the theater was run by famous directors, for example, Alexander Veselov and Vladimir Miodushevsky. Of the staff at the moment, the theater has 14 people, which is enough for both productions and inventory maintenance.

Note that the theater often travels to other cities with tours, while taking all the equipment with them.

Repertoire

Despite the fact that other theaters in Pskov also show performances for children, the popularity of the puppet show does not diminish. Indeed, younger children are better able to perceive performances with dolls. To watch the productions was not boring, the institution offers more than 20 different productions, including such favorite shows as "By the Pike's Wish", "Masha and the Bear", "Gusenok", "Mukha-Tsokotukha", "Little Red Riding Hood" And many other children's tales. Tell us more about how good our folk tales are, it makes no sense, because everyone knows and loves them since childhood. Works for children are always filled with goodness and morality, which teaches goodness, courage and friendship.

Puppet theater makes plays not only for children, there are also performances for schoolchildren and adults in its repertoire, such as "Faust" and "The Man Who Was not." If the production of "Faust" is clear, the second deserves special attention. Surprisingly, in 2001 the Puppet Theater found an unpublished work by the famous writer Sergei Dovlatov, which he wrote specifically for this theater, for showing to schoolchildren. It took some time to prepare the play, and in 2003 a solemn premiere took place. Today the performance puts not only the Pskov institution, but also other theaters of the country.

Green Theater

The theaters of Pskov are not limited to traditional ones. So, the most interesting in this regard is the Green Theater (Pskov), which is located directly under the open sky. This is an amazing structure that resembles ancient Roman amphitheatres, but instead of steps there are green hills on which there are wooden benches painted in a pleasant light brown color. Below, in the hollow, is a wooden scene.

It should be said that the theater became a favorite place of the townspeople not only on concert days, this pleasant place immediately became one of the new symbols of Pskov. Of course, it is difficult to call it a full-fledged theater in the traditional sense of the word. Usually in the Green Theater in the summer there are festive and concert events, as well as screenings of films. In winter, the open-air institution does not work.

Ticket prices

The theaters of Pskov adhere to a certain price policy. So, due to the fact that the city is small, the prices for cultural events are quite acceptable.

The cost of admission to the theater. A.S. Pushkin usually ranges from 300 to 800 rubles, depending on the location. Viewing the performance at the Puppet Theater will cost the parents of young spectators from 250 rubles. And various entertainment activities in the Green Theater are usually free of charge.

Note that the theaters change their schedule and repertoire slightly during the New Year holidays. So, in institutions working in the winter, you can watch children's New Year's performances, which are almost every day.
