After graduation he worked as a hospital attendant in a clinical hospital. In 1961 he entered the LGITMiK. Having finished his studies, he worked as a literary editor at the plant of industrial enterprises.

In the theater named Komissarzhevskaya Victor Abramovich came in 1987. At first he was an assistant to the chief director. Then he moved to the post of deputy. Director of repertoire and drama. Artistic director V. Novikov became in 1992.

In 1999, Viktor Abramovich was awarded the title of "Honored Artist of Russia". Novikov is not only a talented leader, but also a wonderful person who knows how to keep friendship, is able to forgive and love, is always ready to help at a difficult moment, in time to support, and not only in words but also in deeds. His close friends were Joseph Brodsky and Mikhail Baryshnikov. V.Novikov is devoted to his work, to the theater in which he serves and gives all his strength and his whole soul to the development of his offspring.

Thanks to the competent leadership of Vladimir Abramovich, the Komissarzhevskaya Theater has been one of the most visited and loved in the cultural capital for many years. The troupe's performances are always of interest. Performances are held with the same sold-out.

Through the efforts of Khudruk, the theater was recently subjected to a grandiose reconstruction. He is not afraid of anything new, but at the same time traditions are not alien to him. Often, Vladimir Abramovich invites to work on new productions of young talented directors.
