History

Musical Theater of Rostov-on-Don was established in 1919. State status he received in 12 years. Then it was called the theater of musical comedy. The repertoire included only operettas. In those years the troupe was replenished with young talented artists.

In 1999, his new building, which is now, received a musical theater (Rostov-on-Don). The address is: Bolshaya Sadovaya street, 134/38. The building of the theater is one of the best in our country in terms of technical equipment. In addition to performances and concerts, there are festivals, festivals, forums and so on. The area of the building is 37 thousand square meters. Its stage area is only second only to the Bolshoi Theater in terms of its technical equipment and size. A new building for the Rostov Theater was built for a very long time, not one decade. The authors of the project were architects V. Khafizov, G. Dukov and L. Lobak.

In the process of its creative path the theater acquired a new status. Now in his repertoire - not only operettas. These include ballets, musicals, symphony concerts, performances for children, operas, rock operas and musical novels. The expansion of the repertoire required the increase of the troupe.
