The preparation "Ginkgo biloba" describes the instruction as a biologically active additive, which has an angioprotective and antiaggregant effect. Currently, in order to obtain raw materials for the pharmaceutical industry, this plant is cultivated in many countries, and biologically active additives containing its extract are popular all over the world. In Russia, you can also buy the drug "Ginkgo biloba forte", which contains, in addition to the extract of Ginkgo biloba, flower pollen and green tea extract, which enhances the antioxidant properties of the product.

The extract of "Ginkgo biloba" includes more than forty ingredients: flavonoid glycosides (quercetin, isoramnetin and others), terpenes and specific substances called ginkgolides and bilobalides, which in nature no longer occur in any plant. It is to them that this drug owes much of its properties. One tablet contains 40 mg of Ginkgo biloba extract.

The drug is indicated for the treatment of psychiatric disorders caused by somatic diseases. It effectively fights against depressive conditions, improves mood, helps to eliminate irritability and anxiety, provides full sleep and rest. Receiving the "Ginkgo biloba" means you can get rid of dizziness and headaches.

Based on the properties of the drug "Ginkgo biloba", its use is shown in discircular encephalopathy - a condition in which there is a disorder in the functions of the brain due to circulatory disorders. The drug "Ginkgo biloba" is recommended to receive stroke or craniocerebral trauma, as well as those patients whose brain disorders are associated with their advanced age. To improve memory and attention, this drug can be taken by younger patients.

Due to its ability to improve peripheral circulation, the "Ginkgo biloba" is used in the complex treatment of patients suffering from its disorders, in particular, those diagnosed with Raynaud's syndrome, a disease in which small vessels of the upper limbs are affected. The daily dose of the drug depends on the indications. With symptomatic treatment of disorders of cerebral circulation, the patient should take 1-2 tablets three times a day. The course of treatment is at least two months. In other cases, usually one tablet is prescribed three times a day, the course duration is 6-8 weeks.

The use of the drug is contraindicated with intolerance of its components, peptic ulcer disease, myocardial infarction, and clotting disorders. "Ginkgo biloba" is not prescribed for children under 18 years old, as well as for pregnant and lactating women. Given the severity of the diseases in which its use can be shown, this drug should not be taken without the recommendation of the treating doctor. It should also be borne in mind that its administration simultaneously with anticoagulants, including acetylsalicylic acid, significantly increases the risk of hemorrhage to the brain.
