The drug "Afloderm" (analogues are absent) is considered by many specialists to be a unique solution in the treatment of dermatosis on the face and areas of tender skin in children from six months old and adults. The drug is fast-acting in the epidermis and dermis, a double mechanism of antipruritic action. The tool "Afloderm" does not cause unpleasant sensations at use, possesses a high level of safety.

Medication belongs to the group of corticosteroids, it is characterized by moderate activity. The drug "Afloderm" instructions for use describes how antiproliferative, vasoconstrictive, antipruritic and anti-inflammatory. The drug helps to reduce the formation, release and activity of inflammatory mediators (histamine, leukotrienes, lysosomal enzymes, kinin, prostaglandins). The medication lowers vasodilation (an increase in the lumen in the vessels) and vascular permeability, inhibits the passage of cells to the focus of inflammation, which in turn prevents the development of puffiness.

The drug is prescribed for patients with sensitive skin (elderly people and children from six months old) with chronic dermatoses. The drug "Afloderm" instruction recommends the use to continue treatment, started by another glucocorticosteroid. The drug in the form of an ointment is prescribed for chronic dermatoses, as well as for dry, squamous hyperkeratosis changes. The medicine in the form of a cream is shown in wet dermatoses of an acute current.

The recommended amount of "Afloderm" for covering the affected area is to apply a thin coat, lightly rubbing, two or three times during the day. After weakening the symptoms of the disease, the use of the drug is stopped.

The areas of the skin after application of the ointment or cream "Afloderm" is not recommended because of the likely increase in systemic absorption of the active ingredient (alclomethasone) under the dressing. The exception can be clinically conditioned situations.

When applying the drug, some side reactions are likely. To local manifestations include burning, dryness, redness or itching of the skin, papular rash. In rare cases, acne can develop, a secondary infection develops, contact dermatitis of an allergic nature. Long-term use of the drug in large areas can provoke systemic reactions.

The drug "Afloderm" can cause glycosuria, hyperglycemia, oppression of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal system, Cushing's syndrome. Adverse reactions include also increased blood pressure.

The drug "Afloderm" is not prescribed for patients up to six months. Contra-indications include perioral dermatitis, skin tuberculosis, hypersensitivity. During pregnancy and lactation, the doctor decides whether to use the medicine.
