Tank (applique): templates and instructions

Do not know how to do a volumetric tank? The application is much simpler. Suggest the boy to make a relief, repeating the shape and color of the combat vehicle. It's not difficult, but the result of your work the child will be proud. Moreover, the application is easy to decorate a postcard or other thing.

Which one to choose the basis for

To your tank (applique), not only looked beautiful, but also could perform a decorative function, it is worthwhile to foresee in advance what you will create the craft on. There are several options:

• Fold a sheet of paper or cardboard in the form of a postcard and paste the details on the front side.
• Take a neat flat sheet of paper or cardboard and do the artwork in the form of a panel, which will then be framed.
• Make applique of felt on a more dense basis of the same material. This version of a small size can be used as a souvenir magnet.
• You can apply the applique from the fabric on the finished item (T-shirt, bag, pen case for office supplies).

As you can see, there are several possibilities. Provide the use of the application in advance and correctly select the appropriate substrate.

Tools and materials

To ensure that you have a neat tank, the appliqués should be carried out using the following accessories:

• Pencil.
• Scissors.
• Clay.
• Color paper or fabric for image details.
• Backgrounds of dense material (cardboard, felt, etc.)
• Thread with a needle for working with felt (optional).

It is also better to use the tank template for the application, which is easy to cut out all the necessary details, and you can see what color each element should be.

A very realistic object of military equipment will be obtained if you use a special protective color cloth or paint the paper in such a shade. This can be done with gouache or watercolor on the pencil contours previously applied.

An interesting and natural effect is easy to achieve if a solvent is dripped into a container of water, and a few oil paints of the corresponding shades (two or three) are placed on its surface. After you lower the paper for a few seconds, from which you will then cut out the tank's parts, to the surface of the prepared container, the sheet will be covered with a layer of paint in the form of free spots that mimic the camouflage coloring of military equipment.

How to make a tank template for applique

To make stencils for craft items, you will need paper and a sample. If you draw well, create a contour drawing yourself, if not - print a ready-made chart of the appropriate scale.

If the above option does not suit you or does not like it, and there is no other scheme, print out any color picture and draw a pencil around the contour through the film or glass.

In order for the presented scheme to produce a careful application of the "Tank" made of paper or fabric, prepare the stencils of the corresponding parts separately. Wheels for caterpillars can be made one piece in the form of a ring or make one circle of a larger diameter, the other smaller.

To perform a beautiful artwork by February 23rd or other memorable date, work like this:

1. Take the base on which the parts will be stuck. Fold it in the form of a postcard or leave a flat sheet.
2. Print the template from the previous section by selecting the appropriate image size.
3. Cut out all the details of the top of the tank individually.
4. Stencils for the lower elements are best done by drawing a circular wheel circumference, a small circle of the axis, and the caterpillar made of two separate blanks.
5. Take all the stencils and spread them over the prepared colored paper. Carefully circle the outlines.
6. Wheels can be made in the form of rings, then circle the pattern four times, or each wheel can be made up of two circles. Otherwise, 4 large and small workpieces will be required.
7. Cut out all the elements.
8. Stick the parts on the base according to the pattern.
9. If you have done a panel, decorate it in a frame, pasting on the sides of a strip of colored paper or cardboard.

Applique from fabric

Such decor can be used as a strip on jeans, jacket, backpack or other object. Option of felt fit as a magnet. The essence of the technology is not much different from working with paper, especially if you use felt. First, cut out all the necessary elements in the right amount, and then layer-by-layer or sewn on the base. Sewing can be done manually, with stitches along the contour at an equal distance, or using a decorative machine stitch. Small parts of felt simply enough to paste. If the fabric of protective color was not found at hand, use the material of a greenish shade and embroider on it a picture.

So, the tank (applique) is easily made of paper, felt or other fabric of suitable color. Such a handicraft is easy to decorate the front side of the postcard, create a magnet as a gift, decorate the panel on the wall or make a strip of cloth for a backpack, t-shirt or pencil case.
