Style is a whole

Style - this is what determines a person or an era, the distinctive features of any time or terrain. Style can be individual or general, can characterize art and literature, interior of a house.

Today we will try to understand what is the style of Provence and the Romanesque style. Why them? It's simple - these directions are getting more and more popular today. In addition, they are strikingly different from each other.

The style of Provence is associated with the same name of France, bounded by the Alps in the east, the River of Rhone in the west, and the coast of the Mediterranean in the south. Features of this style were determined by the nature of the region, which gave the world such great artists as Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Auguste Renoir, Paul Cézanne, Francis Scott Fitzgerald, Jean Cocteau, Henri Matisse.

This corner of the earth is incredibly attractive, with words you can describe only a small part of its charm. Tranquility, languid negativity and light, lofty feelings-all this applies to Provence. Endless vineyards and spicy meadows alternate with rocks covered with cypresses and pine trees, and ancient cobbled streets have for hundreds of years been preserved in their own color and the extraordinary beauty of the French provinces. The huge flower fields give the air warmed by the generous southern sun a special spice and a dizzying aroma. Here it is, a fairy tale! Tranquility, tranquility, naturalness, dimensionality and closeness to nature, coupled with strong ties with your history and traditions - that's what the style of Provence is. These are bright, sun-filled and simple tones, which, however, do not hold grace.

The main features of the style (whether painting or interior design) are natural colors and materials, originality and lightness, the quiet charm of the harmony of nature and the complete exclusion of any pretentiousness, an easy imprint of antiquity. Literally, resting the soul makes a provencal style. This is exactly the case when you just want to completely relax and give yourself to an unprecedented sense of calm and inner peace.

Roman architecture, on the contrary, is characterized by proportionality, clarity, correctness of lines and unity of elements. Romance style is a style that arose after the antiquity left in non-existence, that is, After the fall of the Roman Empire. Its main feature is profound theology, as well as generality - this style is considered to be all-European, individual features of any particular culture are absent in it.

All sorts of excesses and grace, inherent in the weightless Provence, is not about the Romanesque style. The main thing here is form, and also practicality. The Romanesque style is massive walls and narrow windows (square, round, in the form of a shamrock), shutters made of canvas, monotony.

Decoration of the walls is most often a bas-relief. Carpet is a common element of interior decoration, light is given special attention. Important, but not having independent value, was a sculpture - a kind of decoration of the building.

This style is tragedy of feelings, confusion of images and great excitement, piety and restraint.
