Streets of St. Petersburg. Far East prospectus

The Far East Avenue of St. Petersburg is one of the main highways of the right bank of the Nevsky district. The main part of this district of St. Petersburg is called "Merry Settlement". This historical part of the city, located on the stretch from the Neva to Novoselov Street, includes the Far East Avenue, Kollontai Streets, Dybenko, Bolshevikov Avenue and a number of others. There are several versions of the origin of the name of this area. According to one - in this territory gypsy camps stopped to stay, on the other, it came from the name of the German settlement, called the "Merry Colony".

History

The Far East Avenue, which is a continuation of the Novocherkassk Avenue, starting from Zolnaya Street and ending with Bolsheviks Avenue, is the main transport channel of the Merry Town. Trolleybus, bus (commercial and social) routes pass through it, centrally, between a two-way three-lane traffic, and there are tram ways on a special dedicated canvas.

The Far East Prospect received its name in honor of the Far Eastern Territory. For 16 years, from 1940 to 1956, it was a stretch from the Republican to Granite streets and was a part of Novocherkassk Avenue. Only in 1962 this name was received by a new prospectus, stretching along the right bank of the Nevsky district.

Modernity

By postal address: Russia, St. Petersburg, Far East Avenue is a large number of institutions. Including commercial and social purposes. On the stretch from the street Kollontai to the street Podvoisky is located a large shopping mall. This is a round-the-clock network hypermarkets "Carousel" and "Lenta", construction hypermarkets "Leroy Merlin" and "Castorama", a furniture center "Furniture Wood". In 2010 the shopping and entertainment complex "Felichita" began its work, which after reconstruction in 2012, which was attracted by architects from Great Britain, was renamed the "London Mall". In addition, the Far East Avenue is the address of the Alexander Svirsky monastery, the Nevsky memorial "Cranes" dedicated to the inhabitants of the besieged Leningrad, Kinoveevsky cemetery and educational institutions: the Maritime Lyceum and the Lyceum of Traditional Culture.

New buildings

Until 2009, residential buildings were located only from Antonov-Ovseenko street to Telman street. On the left side (from Zolnaya Street to Podvoisky Street) there was an ash dump. However, in 2007, at the intersection where the Far East Prospect intersects with the streets of Kollontai and Badaeva, the Temp construction company began construction of a new residential complex comprising 5 multi-storey brick and panel houses. Now other construction companies are working on this site. Large residential complexes "Aurora" and "Vostok" have been built and put into operation. With each year, the development of the former ash disposal area continues. In 2012, the garages located on the site along the Far Eastern Avenue to Kollontai Street were demolished, a huge amount of cubic meters of land was exported and the construction of the Rio Housing Complex and social institutions was started.
