Halibut caviar: caloric content, composition and nutritional properties

Halibut roe is a very useful product. After all, it contains a huge amount of vitamins and minerals, which are necessary for the normal functioning of the body. In addition, this product is more affordable financially than, say, caviar of sturgeon or salmon.

Halibut caviar: method of preparation

Halibut is a fish belonging to the Kambalov family. Representatives of this species live in the salt waters of the northern oceans and seas, and at rather large depths. First, the caviar is salted and placed in special wooden chests for about ten days. After that, the product is removed, thoroughly washed and placed in barrels - here it is kept for at least two more weeks.

Halibut roe has rather large sizes. And although it is considered less quality than the same product extracted from sturgeon, it practically does not differ in taste and useful properties. By the way, the natural color of the product is light beige. But after all, on the shelves of shops selling caviar halibut black. To prepare such a product, dyes are used. In most cases, they are of natural origin. It can be, for example, squid ink. Therefore, when buying a product, ask what dyes were used in the production.

As already mentioned, the caviar of this fish is distinguished not only by its excellent taste qualities, but also by its high content of nutrients. In 100 grams of the product contains approximately 107 kcal. Caviar is 75% protein and 25% fat. It also contains a huge amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids Omega-3, which positively affect the work of the whole organism.

In addition, the product contains vitamins such as thiamine, niacin, riboflavin and ascorbic acid. From fat-soluble here contains vitamins A (retinol), D and E.

As for minerals, caviar of halibut is rich in iodine, potassium, magnesium and calcium. There are also phosphorus, sodium, selenium and iron.

In fact, doctors recommend that you regularly use reasonable amounts of this product. To begin with, it should be noted that the protein of caviar is much quicker and easier to digest by the body than proteins from meat. In addition, caviar is an excellent prophylaxis of a known childhood disease called "rickets", because it contains vitamin D and calcium.

Thanks to vitamin A, this product positively influences the work of the visual analyzer. And, of course, caviar will help prevent the development of thyroid diseases, cleanse the body of toxins, strengthen the vessels and improve the work of the heart.

On the other hand, halibut caviar is a low-calorie, dietary product, which will be an excellent addition to the diet during weight loss.

Where do I use this product cooks? First of all, it prepares wonderful tartlets, canapes and sandwiches. What about Japanese rolls? Sometimes, as a filling, they use just halibut caviar. The price for this product is quite affordable, it is easy to find in a store or supermarket. It is really delicious, so it will become a wonderful decoration of the festive table.
