Military parks - an instrument of patriotic education of youth

Russia is a great power with a rich past. Its citizens have something to be proud of. President Putin V.V. More than once expressed the idea of patriotic education of youth. And what can support the patriotic spirit better than military equipment, demonstration of achievements? It is for this purpose that it is planned to create military parks throughout the country. The largest of the existing ones was opened in the Moscow region.

A grandiose idea

The new project received a high-profile name "Patriot". The ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the future park was held on June 9, 2014. It was attended by the Minister of Defense S. Shoigu and the Governor of the region A. Vorobyov.

Territory of the park and location

The military-patriotic park is located in the Moscow region of Odintsovo. The well-known airbase Kubinka, which hosts the world-class airshow, entered its structure.

The total area of the park is more than 5 hectares, of which 3.5 hectares are allocated for the military unit, and 1.9 hectares for the civilian part. It is planned that up to 20 thousand people will come here daily, and on the days of festive events and various festivals the number of guests will exceed this number many times.

The Patriot military park will unite most of the museums of the Ministry of Defense. Here in the open air samples of military equipment of different years are exhibited. Most of the exhibits can not only touch, but even climb inside. Museums of armored vehicles, artillery and tank museums will be transferred to the park. The Central Naval Museum will not replace the dislocation.

Military parks are envisaged not only for demonstration of military equipment, but also for events of various kinds. Such as conferences, concerts, olympiads, which in one way or another concern military affairs. For the guests there is a conference hall, an exhibition complex, a hotel and even a concert venue.

Opening

The military park in Moscow hosted guests on June 16, 2015. It was on this day that the Congress and Exhibition Center was opened. The first event, held in the center, was the forum "Army-2015", which has already become traditional. This grandiose event was personally visited by the President and many distinguished guests. Since that time, various events, exhibitions, auctions, reconstructions of famous battles that have become history and become a heroic heritage of the country are held in the park territory.

Completely "Patriot" plan to put into operation by 2017. The Defense Minister plans to open military parks throughout the country. After all, the patriotic education of young people must be universal.

Buildings of the park

In addition to the mentioned Congress and Exhibition Complex, the church of St. George the Victorious was built in the park in honor of all the soldiers who gave their lives for their homeland. It also recreates the "Partisan Village", consisting of more than 20 objects. There is a dugout, a medical center, a kitchen, and even a workshop in which explosives were produced in an artisanal way. The organizers recreated the life and everyday life of the partisan detachment.

The territory of the park is divided into thematic zones, each of which is dedicated to certain kinds of troops: land, air, air, space, airborne, navy. In each cluster there are exhibitions of specialized military equipment, as well as ranges and attractions. To deliver heavy military equipment, a section of a 10 km railway line was laid in the Patriot military park.

Exposition

The museum exposition of the park includes thousands of pieces of military equipment from different historical periods. There are machines of WWII times, samples of Soviet cars, and the latest achievements of the defense complex. Thus, it is planned to bring the steel hull of the strategic submarine "Arkhangelsk" to the fleet of military equipment. It is one of the largest submarines in the world. The disposal of the old submarine will be done in such a way as to maintain a lightweight body of 170 m in length. It will be placed in the park. Visitors can go inside the submarine, see how the submariners live during long hikes.

For the first time in the world, military equipment was brought to the military parks, which is used in the modern army. In particular, the most powerful anti-ship missile "Granite" was declassified and put on public display. This is the deadliest weapon of the new generation. The operator only needs to determine the target and click on the "Start" button. Released torpedo itself will determine which ship in the squadron is an "ideal" target, and will make the necessary calculations of the point of impact. If several missiles are fired, they "communicate" with each other, distributing combat positions. For the destructive power and unique qualities, this weapon is called the "Killer of aircraft carriers".

Military parks are created to attract young people to military affairs. What boy, and the adult man does not want to see the real armament guarding the state interests? Here you can jump with a parachute, fight in a simulator, eat from a real field kitchen. The program of each day is full.

Forums, meetings

In addition to museum exhibits, the Patriot hosts a variety of thematic conferences, such as the All-Russian Assembly of the members of the Unarmia movement, which brought together representatives of 85 regions of the country, or a robotics conference that brought together the brightest heads working in this direction. The organizers try to keep the days spent in the Patriot Park for a long time and come back again and again.

Tank biathlon

A real fame for the military-patriotic park "Patriot" was the tank biathlon held here. Teams from many countries took part in competitions. The military showed their skills in areas of varying complexity. Thousands of visitors were able to see this fascinating action personally. Military parks are planned to open in many cities. One of them has already started its work in Sevastopol.
