Stalin's dacha in Abkhazia: photos and reviews

Comrade Stalin is a person who entered the history of the world as one of the examples of cruelty, tyranny and massacres. True, thanks to him, mankind was able to stop Hitler and his fascism. Although even Joseph Vissarionovich himself was no different from his rival. But, incidentally, our article is not about Hitler, and not about the character or psychological portrait of Stalin. Today we will talk about the dachas of this ruler. At one time he possessed 78 such objects throughout the Soviet Union. In most of them he never was. Joseph Stalin was very fond of the Caucasus, perhaps, therefore, in Abkhazia he had already five dachas.

Common features

Stalin's dacha in Abkhazia is not one building, but houses in Sukhumi, in Musser, in Novy Afon, on the Kholodnaya River and on Lake Ritsa. All buildings are very similar to each other. The difference between them is not large, and they are built on the same type of architectural projects.

The most popular among tourists is Stalin's dacha in Abkhazia. This building is located on the shore of Lake Ritsa. By the way, this is the highest building of Mr. Joseph. Each of the five residences of the leader has several small bedrooms. Koba suffered agoraphobia, so the rooms were small, and there were a lot of them. Djugashvili did not belong to tall people, and therefore all the beds for dachas were made to order.

The ceilings and walls of the houses are finished with walnut, boxwood and Karelian birch. Since Joseph Vissarionovich did not have a great passion for luxury, there are no decorations in the interior of his houses in Abkhazia. But each dacha of Stalin in Abkhazia can boast of a meeting room and a pool table. Residences that are located in the capital of the country, in New Athos and Ritz, were built by the Germans who were captured. The same people were engaged there and installation of trophy baths-thermoses.

Dacha on the Cold River

The cold river in Abkhazia is a place unique in its nature and climate, so it is not surprising that Koba decided to acquire his own residence here. The cold river, the dacha of Stalin (Abkhazia) amaze with its calmness and silence. Here you can not help admiring the banana palms and roses, the kinds that open to the Black Sea. After a day spent in the scorching sun, you can cool down a bit in the main house of the architectural ensemble, which has muffled lighting and a cool hall. After walking a little deeper into it, you can find a room for a living purpose. All it is trimmed with wood, and from the furniture there is a coffee table, an old piano of black color, armchairs and a soft sofa.

From the living room there is an exit to the dining room. Its walls, like in the previous room, decorated with a warm-colored wood. On the first floor of the villa are three double rooms, which have all the necessary amenities.

The second floor of the villa is another room for guests, as well as a pair of double bedrooms - Green and Red. So they were named because these are the colors that predominate in the decoration of walls and furniture. Stalin's dacha in Abkhazia (the Cold River) was visited 20 times by its ruler.

Where his women lived

Stalin was cruel, but male. Therefore, women were one of his passions. He preferred 18-20-year-old opera singers, and so at a cottage on the Cold River, he equipped rooms for them. There were two such bedrooms that were never guarded. In them there was a separate entrance and exit immediately to the street. Further than their two rooms mistress Koba had no right to pass, so they could not see the rest of the situation of the villa.

Silver and ordinary rooms

Silver was the first bedroom for the favorite women of the leader. The room got its name due to the fact that its walls are covered with Karelian birch. And when sunlight enters this room, it seems that it is made of silver. Karelian birch itself is quite expensive material. In Stalin's time, one kilogram of such a tree at a price equal to the same amount of gold. Unfortunately, the pieces of furniture that were in the silver bedroom of that time did not survive.

The walls of the second bedchamber are treated with ordinary walnut. Attention deserve the patterns on it: the image consists of two almost identical parts, for the sake of which nearly three hundred trees were destroyed.

Villa on Lake Ritsa

On one of the shores of this magical lake is another dacha of the former party leader. This house was built for the Generalissimo in 1947. In the late 30-ies of the last century there was a hunting lodge at the same place. It was used by the local party elite. But at the end of the war the house was dismantled, and in its place grew a large dacha of Stalin in Abkhazia, a photo of which can be considered in our article. The building was disguised very carefully: the house itself was painted green, so it became invisible from the air, and so that from the opposite side of Ritsa he was also not seen, then before him were planted limes.

The main purpose of this dacha was to rest Joseph Vissarionovich. Therefore, there is no office here. On Rietz, he was only resting, there could be no question of any work. The dacha was guarded by three thousand guards and barbed wire, which numbered ten rows. The territory itself is located on an area of one hundred acres. There was also a house in which the chief of the guard was located and there was a large sauna. Not far from the Dairy waterfall was set up a special kitchen, where for Koba prepared meals. How many times Dzhugashvili stayed here, for certain is not known. Stalin's dacha (Lake Ritsa, Abkhazia) became a neighbor of Nikita Khrushchev's residence, who did not want to use the apartments of his predecessor and built another house, not far from Stalin's.

Modern times

Stalin's dachas in Abkhazia today serve as excursion exhibits and residences for the president of the country. If you decide to go on an excursion to Lake Ritsa, then you can spend the night in a house where the great leader once lived. True, this requires the permission of the head of state.

Stalin's dacha in Abkhazia is five rooms, designed for two people. There is everything you need for a good rest: faience baths, in which the water remains warm for several hours, elegant furniture, carpet covers. Finnish sauna, billiards, pleasure boat, swimming pool, catamarans and other attributes of luxury - to the services of tourists.

Excursion to Stalin's dacha (Abkhazia) and accommodation for one person will cost $ 20-50. This price is for one day, and it depends on a certain number. And if you just want to see the dacha of Joseph, you'll have to lay out 150-200 "wooden" from one person.
