Shukshin, "Vanka Teplyashin": summary, analysis. The image of Vanka Teplyashin: a characteristic. Theme and idea of the story "Vanka Teplyashin"

The plot of the short story with the title "Vanka Teplyashin" at first glance seems simple and uncomplicated. But behind the ordinary story, told by the author, there is a deep moral meaning. However, so V. Shukshin always wrote.

Stories about chudiki

VM Shukshin was born into a peasant family and never concealed his roots. Already becoming a famous writer, he often turned to the image of a villager whose simplicity, sincerity, inability to pretend were familiar to him from childhood. These are heroes who are endowed with an original character and better human qualities. Aspiring to know the world and its place in it, they often reason over questions from the eternal category. For example, what is the meaning of human life? How to benefit society? Is it possible to make reality better than it really is?

The unusual qualities of "freaks" are more pronounced when they find themselves in an unfamiliar environment. At the same time, their behavior to most other people seems unconventional and not appropriate to the norm. This is because they never compromise with their conscience, always and in all adhere to strict moral standards. Such a person is, as V. Shukshin thinks, Vanka Teplyashin - a brief summary and an analysis of his history are given below. The simple and simple-minded, hating hypocrisy and pretense, always open to communication with others, he is remembered for a long time to the reader.

"Vanka Teplyashin": a short summary. Acquaintance with the hero

The village guy got into the hospital with a duodenal ulcer. First he was treated by rural doctors. Then suddenly Sergei Nikolaevich arrived and after careful examination took Teplyashin with him. In the city hospital, Vanku was called "thematic", that is, a patient whose diagnosis and treatment help in the research and writing of scientific work.

At the new place, the guy was well arranged. Most often he disappeared in the smoking room or talked with other patients. He told many interesting things about his life to his neighbors in the ward. For example, the story described a story with a drowned car - a hero, who was her driver, then barely got ashore. Everyone was amazed at his speech: full of vernacular and at the same time mesmerizing. Many of the listeners believed that everything they had been told by Vanka Teplyashin was an essay and nothing more. However, the hero, every time he heard doubts about the truthfulness of his words, honestly bulged his eyes - and it became clear to everyone: he really does not know how to lie.

And soon Vanka "got bored" - that's how Shukshin feels overpowering him. He stood at the window for a long time, watching the fussy city life that was unfolding below, and was amazed that no one here could hear anyone. Everyone was constantly in a hurry, and this unceasing run of the same people from above seemed mysterious and useless. From this, Vanka Teplyashin felt very alone in the city.

Unexpected guest

Imagine the surprise of the hero when, one day, he saw the mother heading to the hospital in the crowd of hurrying people. The guy shouted joyfully to the whole room and leaned out of the window. The unrewarding feeling of ecstasy from the upcoming meeting was passed on to all those who were in the ward. And someone advised him to descend faster, because today was not a day of reception and a woman, most likely, will not be admitted.

A man called a red-eyed patient was on duty. It was difficult to agree with him (if only for money), because he was not very fond of it, says Shukshin. Vanka Teplyashin - a brief summary of the subsequent scene allows us to understand the inner world of the hero - saw a mother who asked the guard to take her to her son for a little while. But the red-eyed was adamant. He mechanically - the author emphasizes this with the words "prokukoval", "otkukal" - enumerated the foster days. Nor did he convince him that the woman came from the village. And her mother kept apologizing, that she did not know about the established schedule. And she begged me to sit and talk for a while.

Confrontation

Vanya Teplyashin, who saw this, was suddenly ashamed of his mother's humiliation. He approached the red-eyed and tried to politely explain the situation. That they just will not talk for long. But he continued to look blankly away. Then the guy pointed his mother at the bench behind the watchman and made several steps towards her. At that moment, a disgusting cry was heard "backwards." But as soon as the red-eyed man tried to touch Vanya, the young man resolutely took his hand away. My mother knew how easily my son could be angry, and in every possible way held him back. But Evstigneev, who was sitting nearby, already jumped to the conscripting cries of the guard. The summary of "Vanka Teplyashina" approaches the denouement. A hero who did not want to obey, still managed to resist two strong men. However, during the defense, he touched chairs and bedside tables - though he did everything in his power to avoid it. Soon the sisters and Sergei Nikolayevich appeared. But the guy has already made a decision: he is going home. Now. And immediately I felt how he felt better at heart.

Conversation with the doctor

Sergei Nikolayevich convincingly asked Vanka not to get excited and continue the treatment. He suggested that his mother spend some time in his apartment, and then a woman can come to the hospital every day. I assured that if the guy immediately turned to him, then there would not be any problems with the meeting. But Vanka Teplyashin was unshakable and stood firm on his own. Then he quickly ran into the ward, collected his things.

Yevstigneyev gave out his clothes, which a few minutes ago helped the red-eyed to overcome the patient. Now he decided that Vanka was expelled from the hospital, and therefore expressed to him his regret. It was enough for Vakhter to give fifty kopecks so that he let his mother in, Yevstigneev added, confirming the words voiced earlier by someone in the House about the bribery of the red-eyed.

Home

The summary of Vanka Teplyashin completes the conversation between the hero and his mother. On the way, a frustrated woman reproached her son for not being able to "fixate" anywhere because of her character. And Vanka only urgently asked that she never again be humiliated in this way. Soon they got on the bus and headed home.

The theme of the story is "Vanka Teplyashin"

As already noted, despite the simple plot, the work of V. Shukshin is filled with a very deep meaning. Its author is interested in the relationships that develop between people in everyday life. Therefore, in the story, first of all, draw attention to the scene, which describes the meeting and talk of the son with his mother.

The joyful exclamation that is heard in the ward when Vanka saw a man who was dear to him testifies to his boundless love and tenderness. "My dear" - the first thing that comes to mind the boy at this moment. Later, he decisively stands up for the protection of an older woman, forced to humble herself in front of a stranger in order to talk with her own child for a few minutes.

The relationship between the son and mother helps to understand and that incredible longing that embraced Teplyashin in the city hospital. Yes, he created good conditions here, but the guy was away from home and people close to him.

The main idea of the work

The relationship between the main character and the red-eyed man is quite different. The latter was unable to step over through the company and understand what people who are close to each other feel after a long separation. The idea of the work, in fact, lies in the words of the protagonist, uttered during the farewell to Evstigneev: "We must be a man ...". The phrase, which appeared as Vanka's response to the remark that the watchman should be paid, directly correlated with the behavior of the red-eyed. However, it can serve as a reminder to every person: for only in this way, while remaining a man, one can struggle with the injustice that reigns in society.

The theme and idea of the story "Vanka Teplyashin", the contrast between the protagonist and the watchman, makes it clear that not everything in life is measured in money and well-being. There are things that you can only feel with your heart. One more thing is important: one should never forget about one's own dignity. This is the only way to preserve respect for oneself. That's why the guy persistently persuaded his mother never and for no one else so do not ask. And he did not agree to the doctor's proposal, although it was from a pure heart.

Characteristics of the main character

Very interesting is the author's image of Vanka Teplyashin. To understand its nature, everything is important: behavior, speech, and relationships with the mother, as well as those who surround him.

Note that Vanka quickly found a common language with his neighbors in the ward, because by nature he was open and sociable. But even gay talk did not save him from anguish. For a village resident, who is accustomed to always be in business, the city seems strange and incomprehensible. He did not see here an observant, sensitive hero of the world and understanding between people. Strange seemed to him the very life of the townspeople, which he long tried to understand, standing at the window. He was amazed by the noise, which was a lot, and complete indifference to each other. In this regard, it should be noted how Shukshin describes the hero in those moments when he saw his mother - rushed down and took an important decision for himself, galloped upstairs to collect things. Vanya seemed to come alive, having felt the connection with his home. It is also important that the guy said good-bye not only to his neighbors in the ward, but also to the red-eyed man who offended him. Thus, Vanka Teplyashin, whose analysis of the behavior indicates how honest he was, sincere and unsophisticated, he could not please, cunning, and adapting. He always remained himself. And this gives an answer to the question of why the hero could not stay for a long time anywhere. He simply lived by conscience, which is often not liked by others.

Vanka Teplyashin: the meaning of the name

It's no secret that writers usually call their heroes for a reason. A name is one of the artistic devices, since it can tell a lot about a person. Let's start with the name of the main character. Teplyashin - immediately there are obvious associations: warm, sincere. And Vanka is a name that is quite common in Russian fairy tales. And although very often this hero, the youngest of the three sons, is called Ivan the Fool, he is the most resourceful, hardworking, skilful and achieves everything in life thanks to his qualities. In addition, Shukshin uses a diminutive form: Vanka, and he immediately becomes closer to the reader.

If we turn to the meaning of the name, we find that Ivan means "God's grace." Thus, the combination of "Vanka Teplyashin" already underlines the kindness, innocence of the protagonist.

The meaning of the story of V. Shukshin

Ch. Aitmatov wrote: "If a man stops his struggle with evil, he ceases to be a man." We can assume that these words are another excellent characteristic of Vanka Teplyashin. His confidence in the inviolability of moral norms, his readiness to defend his own views and fight against injustice, protest against adaptation in any form of his kind arouse the reader's sympathy. And even if the main character chooses the main character, the very existence of him and others like him does not always prove acceptable, that the victory of good is still possible in our world.
