Cape Martyan

This reserve is located not far from the famous Nikitsky Botanical Garden. In comparison with its neighbors, it is very small, only 240 hectares. It was also opened in 1973. The main purpose of creating this reserve was to preserve this small piece of Mediterranean nature.

Under special protection is a truly unique relic forest. It grows around 500 species of rare Mediterranean trees. Here is also the only evergreen broad-leaved strawberry tree in the whole of Eastern Europe.

Crimean nature reserve

What is Askania-Nova compared to him! It is one of the oldest in the peninsula. It was founded in the pre-war time, namely in 1928. It is located in the central part of the peninsula.

In the territory of this reserve, about 1200 representatives of the flora grow, more than 200 species of vertebrate animals live. Beech, oak and, of course, hornbeam forests are of great value. They are under special protection.

In the reserve there are such unique animals as the Crimean noble deer, moufflon and Crimean roe deer and other very rare animals for the peninsula. Also here are created so-called ecological paths, moving around in groups, tourists have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with all the riches of nature.

It is worth noting that on Chatyrdag specially equipped cave, which is fully open to visitors by all comers. It has a very beautiful name - Marble. Also in the vicinity is an amazing branch of the reserve - Lebyazhy Island. It is here that the largest concentration of waterfowl in the whole of Eastern Europe is located . The total number of species of birds that live here is 265. It should be noted that 18 of them were listed in the Red Book!
