Plague of pigs. We get acquainted with the classical form of the disease

Pig plague is known by several names. This is the classic swine fever, and porcine cholera. Most of the outbreaks of this infection are affected by small farms, on the territory of which a contagious virus can be entered by wild animals - wild boars. Also, the disease is possible in cases where instructions to prevent such a dangerous virus for the livestock, like swine fever, are ignored.

This viral disease is very contagious. Vulnerable to it remain domestic pigs and wild boars. Its characteristic symptoms are inflamed mucous membranes of the intestines, severe lesions of the hematopoietic organs and blood vessels, attacks of fever. Most pathology leads to death.

To prevent the appearance of this form of the disease as the classical swine fever, a number of measures are taken. This detailed familiarization with the primary signs of the disease, diagnosis and control of infection in the early stages of the disease, isolating the infected individual, the development of numerous instructions for the destruction of a malignant virus. It is important training of veterinarians skills to identify the classic form of the disease.

For many centuries, the disease takes the lives of millions of individuals. The plague of pigs causes irreparable damage to the farms and the economic situation as a whole. International veterinary organizations are everywhere monitoring possible outbreaks of infection so that it is possible to prevent the epidemic as early as possible.

Determination of the disease occurs by taking the pig from the fluid from the spinal canal. Laboratory diagnosis allows you to reliably diagnose "pig plague." The difficulty in identifying this pathology is that there are many clinical signs that are very similar to other diseases.

The severity of the course of the disease depends on the variation of the strains of the virus, the state of the immune status of the herd at the time of infection, and the age of the animal.

The entry into the body of an animal virus of such a contagious disease as a pork plague often occurs due to improper conditions of keeping and feeding. The use of food that does not meet the requirements, or the conditions of keeping the livestock, far from sanitary standards, increase the likelihood of the disease. In addition, there are other causes that increase the risk of infection. Such an infection as swine fever can penetrate into the animal's organism through mucous membranes and open wounds by entering into them feces and secretions of the infected individual; The sow can transmit the virus to its pig. Infection can occur by physical means. A person or an insect can transfer an infection from a sick pig to a healthy one.

In classical swine fever, there are three forms of manifestation. It can occur in mild, acute or chronic forms. In acute form, the disease lasts no more than 2 weeks. The death rate in this case is 100%.

The chronic form, like the acute one, has the same clinical signs, but the disease is intermittent. At the same time, the protective functions of the pig organism decrease, which, in turn, makes pigs highly vulnerable to another kind of infection. At this stage, the disease lasts for several months. Outcome - the disease wins.

With a mild form of the plague, there are no clinical signs. Infection spreads through the herd with the feces of the infected pig. Often the only sign of a mild form of the disease can be a decrease in reproductive function or the appearance of dead piglets. If the pig was born healthy from a sick sow, then the illness overtakes him usually in a month.

Despite the fact that classical swine fever has been ubiquitous in recent times, nowadays many countries, and above all Russia, declare the eradication of this virus.
