Dzungarian hamster in your house

Dzungar hamster (also called jungarik or snigurik) has long and firmly "registered" in the apartments of animal lovers. These lovely, extremely mobile, incredibly clever and hilarious funny animals are very popular with children and adults alike. Most often they are kept in a small flock in a transparent container or in a very fine cell, because the jungar hamsters are small creatures, their body length does not exceed 10 centimeters. Most of the backrest is painted brownish-gray with a characteristic dark stripe, which gives the animals some similarity with small chipmunks. The abdomen is white. The Dzhungar hamster differs from other species of its hamster family in that its hind legs are covered with thick wool. Now several breeds of jungariks with different colors, for example, pearl or mandarin, are derived. Unfortunately, these pets live very little, only 3 years.

But if you can not give the hamster a lot of time every day, then it's better not to start it. It is surprisingly lively, active animal, which conducts a predominantly nocturnal lifestyle, and in the daytime prefers to sleep in a house, curled up in a ball. He is able to climb even into the narrowest cracks, so do not let your pet travel freely around the house, otherwise it can get lost. For the same reason, it is not worthwhile to plant it in a wooden cage, which can easily be gnawed.

Some breeders claim that it is possible to train animals to cope with a special flat dish with sawdust or sand if they are kept in a rather spacious cage. But in practice it turns out that this is practically impossible. But in any case, when organizing the living space for your hamster, you need to take into account that he will make "sticks", and, at once in several places. And when cleaning the cage, it is best not to touch these stocks, otherwise your pet can experience a great deal of stress, if not once it can not find its stocks in the usual place.

The jungar hamster, whose food at home should not cause problems, should not eat all that is on the table of its owners. Hamsters prefer solid food, which helps them to chop the incisors, so they will be very happy to chew nuts, twigs of trees.

Feeding Djungar hamsters should be done in the morning and in the evening, and the main volume of feed should be given exactly in the evening, as the animals are nocturnal. As a rule, one hamster has 1 dessert spoon of dry food. It is necessary to include protein food in the diet of a pet, for example, a piece of boiled quail or chicken egg, baby meat food, cottage cheese, boiled chicken. In addition, jungariks are very eager to eat cucumbers, apples, pumpkins, carrots, zucchini, pears, and even boiled water on the porridge. With care, you need to give hamsters fresh greens.

You can not feed dzhungar hamsters salted, sugared, fatty, smoked, fried food, as well as products containing spices, butter, honey.
