Novosibirsk Crematorium and the Museum of Funeral Culture
Novosibirsk crematorium was opened in 2003. This is really a unique project, before anything like this in the city was not. People from different faiths and nationalities address here. The crematorium takes into account the interests of adherents of all religions: the building consists of several niches. Each of them carries out rituals, characteristic of representatives of individual nationalities. Occasionally come to the crematorium and rather eccentric people, for whom an exotic service is provided - the sending of the debris of the deceased into space.
Price list
The founders of the crematorium tried to provide for the needs and feelings of future visitors. They did everything necessary to ensure that people who came to spend their loved ones on the last path felt themselves as comfortable as possible. The Novosibirsk crematorium, whose prices are quite acceptable, attracts more and more visitors.
Registration of crematorium
The crematorium is designed in classical style. Architects did not immediately begin building the building. First they studied in detail samples of over 60 crematoria located in different states. The founders believe that it is the classic that is best suited for such a mournful place.
The crematorium has a buffet, and there are also two rooms for commemorating the deceased. Impressive care for people with disabilities: the building has ramps, as well as handrails.
A park
Near the crematorium there is a park. It's enough just to leave the building, and immediately you get there. The park is spread about 6 hectares. In the middle is a stele, which looks like a tree. On its branches there are pigeons, and this is not accidental: they symbolize cremation.
Opening of the Museum of funerary culture, exhibits
May 14, 2012 there was a significant event. In Novosibirsk, a rather unusual museum dedicated to funeral culture began to function. Here you can see the exhibits dated to the XIX and XX centuries, and this is no accident, because this time period was characterized by the maximum elaboration of the funerary culture. She was inherent in both humanism and aesthetics. Curious tourists believe that it is not enough to visit only the Novosibirsk crematorium, the museum also deserves attention. And they are certainly right.
What can you see in the museum?
In the museum there are several thousand very interesting subjects. These include over 200 mourning attire of the XIX century, all kinds of hearse, about 1000 magnificent paintings and figurines of old and relatively new. There are also 10,000 vintage engravings depicting mourning and funerals. In addition, here you can see 9,000 pictures on the theme of burial and death, over 11,000 beautiful postcards.
Mannequins, photos
The museum is distinguished by the level of visualization, which is not often found in our country, but for America and European countries this is already common. Some aspects of the funeral culture are expressed through plot dioram-installations. The procedure of identification in the prozector, the manufacture of mourning attire, the registration of an order in a special office, the farewell of parents with the deceased child - such subjects are played by mannequins, very similar to people. They are in carefully reconstructed interiors. Mannequins are dressed in the clothes of the XIX century. Visitors from them are delighted.
