Musical Theater, Krasnodar: repertoire, address, hall scheme

The Krasnodar Theater began its activity in 1933. Having emerged from the operetta enterprise, he traveled a length of more than 75 years, during which the troupe, changing creatively, changed its name five times.

The emergence of new genres

In 1997, the Krasnodar Theater received the status of a musical, which made it possible to expand creative boundaries and include in the repertoire of major genres such as opera and ballet.

The main choreographer Vladimir Pak assembled a ballet troupe that, in two years, realized eight ballets, such as: "A Thousand and One Nights" (F. Amirov), "Don Quixote" (L. Minkus), "Pavane Mavra" (G. Purcell), "Bravo, Figaro!" (Composer J. Rossini) and others. Since that time, the theater troupe is replenished with young and talented vocalists and dancers, among whom are V. Bulatov, O. Silaeva, M. Shulga, V. Kuznetsov.

Invitation of Masters

In 1998, a new stage in the development of the culture of the Kuban began, this is due to the appearance of the new artistic director D. Saetovich, in which the Musical Theater (Krasnodar) soared to a qualitatively new height. He raised the professional level and invited bright personalities: the conductor of the Bolshoi Theater Fuat Mansurov (People's Artist of Russia) and the director Boris Tseitlin, which could not but affect the level of the productions.

A new round in the history of the theater began with the decision of the administration of the Krasnodar Territory, which in January 2002 announced the entry of the theater into the KGTO "Premiere", whose general director was L. G. Gatov (People's Artist of Russia).

From this time, a large-scale reconstruction of the building begins. Repair work did not last long, on August 31 the theater was open to the public. The acoustics of the theater needed the improvement, therefore, work was done to increase the orchestra pit, the auditorium was completely redone. The lighting on the stage was replaced, ballet halls were built, the building's acting rooms were renovated, the foyer, the facades of the building were restored , and the adjacent territory was landscaped. It is such a renewed, today we see the theater.

Musical Krasnodar: premiere

Large-scale works on the reconstruction of the building did not prevent the staff of the theater from working on a new repertoire. The Transfigured Theater was opened by the premier of the ballet "The Golden Age" by D. Shostakovich. A week later, the audience appreciated the premiere of the opera "Carmen" by the composer J. Bizet in the production of the director A. Stepaniuc (St. Petersburg) and the conductor V. Ziva. Then, 14 days later, another premiere was given to the court of Krasnodar - the opera "Eugene Onegin" by the composer PI Tchaikovsky, the director D. Bertman (Honored Artist of Russia), the chief conductor of the symphony orchestra - V. Ponkin (People's Artist of Russia ).

Organizational activity

General Director L. G. Gatov invited V. Zivu, the artistic director and chief director of the renovated theater of the State Prize laureate, to the post. Working together, they worked on creating a new theater repertoire, attracted new musicians, vocalists, choreographers, artists, famous directors for this. Their innovative activity consisted of numerous educational projects involving well-known musicians and cultural figures such as Denis Matsuev, Sergei Yursky, Andrey Diev, Pavel Lyubimtsev, Lyubov Kazarnovskaya and others.

Musical Theater (Krasnodar) thanks to the activities of LG Gatova began to collect the best creative forces of the country. Over performances:

The Musical Theater (Krasnodar) is not only rich in young cadres, but also proud of its experienced staff, including folk and honored artists: Natalia Kremenskaya, Anatoly Borodin, Anastasia Podkopaeva, Yuri Drozhnyak. The leading artists of the theater are Marina Shulga, Karina Petrovskaya, Oksana Silayeva, Vladimir Kuznetsov, Vladimir Gadalin, Tatyana Zagozha, Vladimir Bulatov. The chorus of the theater is becoming an independent unit, its head is the main choirmaster Igor Shvedov.

To the 60th anniversary of the Great Victory the choir, the soloists of the theater and the orchestra under the direction of V. Ziva presented to the audience the oratorio "Russian Requiem" by A. Tchaikovsky, it was written specially for the theater (by his order).

New projects

Now at the head of the Creative Association stands Tatyana Gatova - Honored Artist of Russia. She is directly involved in the creation of new productions, thanks to her theater today can be proud of the new repertoire of a variety of genres. Attention viewers are:

  • Children's operas "Dwarf Nose", "Cinderella"; The premiere of the performance "Dwarf Nose" by Ephraim Podgaits took place in Krasnodar and was a huge success, the opera became interesting for both adults and children, in it artists of the theater opened in a new way.

Creative atmosphere, reigning in the team, helped the creators to realize an interesting idea. Musical Theater (Krasnodar) presented to the viewer four programs of the cycle "Scenes from Russian operas". The listener had an amazing opportunity to enjoy the wonderful performance of the most popular and favorite fragments from the great operas in one evening. These concerts are unique in that even in the capital's theaters they are often not heard, as the arias of famous operas are written for rare voices.

The huge success with which the concerts took place, and the desire of the audience to see their favorite numbers again made the management select the brightest moments and arrange a gala concert, giving it the title "Russian operas: the best of the best."

Conquest of Heights

The birthday of such a city as Krasnodar, a musical theater, whose address is st. Red, 44, noted the long-awaited premiere - the opera of P. Tchaikovsky's "Queen of Spades." The production of this famous and large-scale work indicates that the theater troupe conquered the summit and is now at the level of the capital. In 2012, the artistic director is Andrei Lebedev - Honored Artist of the Kuban.
