History of occurrence
Djankoy is a small town, it appeared in the times of the Crimean Khanate. The Turks were attracted by the climate and the countryside, drowning in greenery, the calmness and the dimension of the pace of time. Its name has not changed in history. In translation from Turkic the name of the city means "hospitable and nice village". Of course, then the city was not large, but in the eighteenth century Jankoe was already mentioned in the annals. By the time the city became part of the Russian Empire along with the entire peninsula, it received the status that consolidated it and today is the "city of republican subordination".
Climate
The first street in the city was called the Crimean, and today it is still preserved under the same name. The construction of the buildings and the railway became the fundamental events for the village, which was Dzhankoy, however the cultural trends of the peoples living here have affected the architectural features of the city. The gates of the Crimea open up to both industrial destinations and visitors wishing to get acquainted with local attractions. Djankoy is a very cozy city. In many respects this is favored by a special climate: no hot days, no cold nights.
sights
While plowing the northern gates of the Crimea, Djankoy demonstrates how much the historical past is preserved within it. The architecture of the city is preserved in the style of the khan's palace buildings, they include the Moslem mosque.
Some of the sights are built in the Gothic style. For example, this is the Czech Church of the Heart of Jesus Christ. He attracts visitors of the city with his charm, style and beauty outside and inside are supplemented with a legend about the fulfillment of desires. At the beginning of the XX century, this church was one of the most beautiful in the Crimea, it was built by Czechs and Germans who moved to the Crimea. The organ, the bells brought from the Czech Republic, crystal chandeliers, benches for the parishioners of oak breeds, Persian carpets, silk, velvet, white marble - so he looked in those days. After the war, the church was restored only partially, the decision that it was unprofitable to reconstruct it was taken by the European side, and today the fading luxury and beauty of the man-made sights still pleases the eye.
No less interesting is Shatilov's estate, reconstructed in our time. Being a kind of historical monument, the estate is divided into several buildings, in one of them people live today.
