"Reopoliglyukin" is a drug used in complex therapy of shock (traumatic, burn, septic, anaphylactic, cardiogenic), thromboembolic complications, obliterating vascular diseases, prolonged compression syndrome, purulent-septic conditions, retinal pathology, optic nerve, inflammatory processes of the cornea. The drug is also used in cardiac surgery, in which the device of artificial circulation is used. The drug in pediatrics is used to eliminate large blood loss by replacing the volume of plasma. The main form of release of the drug is a solution for intravenous infusion.

During the operation, the amount of the drug administered is half a liter. The rate of administration is determined by the severity of the patient's condition, by indications. In operations that are accompanied by the use of the apparatus of artificial circulation, ten milliliters per kilogram of body weight is added to the recommended doses.

Side effects include the appearance of skin itching, rashes, Quincke edema, the development of anaphylactic shock, arterial hypertension. Infusion should be stopped immediately if there are complaints of difficulty breathing, a feeling of tightness in the chest, pain in the lumbar region, cyanosis, chills, circulatory disorders.
