The Lviv-Odessa train - from the western capital to southern Palmyra

Almost any resident of western or southern Ukraine will say that he does not like to move between these two regions. Go to Kiev - yes, especially in the service needs. But leaving your region for something less attractive - for nothing. And a resident of Odessa will say about Lviv: "There's not even a sea there." For what sake? ". A Lvovyan will complain that without the aroma of freshly prepared coffee, he does not imagine a city, especially if he has practically no history.

Without express trains

And neither Odessa, nor Lviv will be right. Because these two cities, not belittling the merits of other settlements, are for Ukraine sign. Each of them is unique in its ancient beauty, but at the same time they are similar in maintaining respect for the antiquity.

In Lviv, the historical center of the city was formed in the Polish empire, was renewed in the Austro-Hungarian Empire and finally formed in the empire of the Russian Empire. Odessa was never built up by Poles and Austrians, but twice won a competition for the best planning of its center, because it was built by Italian architects with an eye to the best European examples. And the stations in both cities are beautiful, built in the best traditions of urban development, designed to show their greatness to foreigners coming to the empire.

By the time when the European Football Championship was held in Ukraine and Poland in 2012, the railway between the hosting cities of the championship was modernized. On her high-speed expresses were launched. Unfortunately, Odessa has passed this honor, so the express message Lviv-Odessa does not exist.

Only three routes

But there are three trains that connect the western capital of Ukraine and South Palmyra. The small number of routes confirms all of the above-the transfer between western and southern Ukraine is not in demand.

Like all other routes, the main train "Lviv-Odessa" under number 026L leaves its hometown in the evening, and the next morning it arrives at the "pearl at the sea" station. Departure - 20:40, arrival - at 8:50 next day. On the way, the train is ten minutes longer than twelve hours.

Faster than the main train for three whole minutes, another one Lvov-Odessa train is moving along the route. Arrival in South Palmira at 9:44, and departure from the Lviv railway station - at 21:37. True, this train is sent to Odessa via Lviv in transit. The beginning of his glorious path are Chernivtsi. This train under number 136L is named "Chernomor".

But the record holder for the time of stay on the route is the next Lviv-Odessa train - night. The route 107L, named "Hadzhibey" by the name of the predecessor city of Odessa, is sent at 0:42, and stays in South Palmira at 12:35. That is, on the way there are twelve hours without seven minutes. And, by the way, this train is also transit, and begins its route in Transcarpathian Uzhgorod.

It should be clarified that the train Lviv-Odessa, as well as Uzhhorod-Odessa, runs daily along the route. But the train Chernivtsi-Odessa from the second of March begins to ply in a day on paired numbers.

Price of issue

Despite the availability of roads between the two cities, the best way to travel along the Lviv-Odessa route is by train. The price for tickets starts from 118 UAH for a reserved seat. The coupe will cost from 185 hryvnia, and the suite will cost from 418 hryvnia per seat.

During the trip the Lviv-Odessa train makes eight stops, of which two - in Zhmerinka and in Kotovsk - about twenty minutes.
