History of the model

The first UAZ is a gasoline truck with a power unit of 50 horsepower, installed before that on the "Victory". Equipped with a four-speed gearbox. The first copy was assembled in Ulyanovsk in 1949, and a year later the conveyor production began. The car received the UAZ-300 marking.

Legendary models of UAZs with index 69 began to be produced in 1954. The issue lasted 18 years, and the car received universal recognition.

450 series

In 1958, the factory produced the first sample of the legendary 450 series, which was produced before the next complete modernization, which took place in 1985. Based on the beloved domestic SUV, the following UAZ models were produced:

• UAZ-451 - (1961-85) - all-metal van.
• UAZ-451 D - cargo.
• UAZ-451 A - the nurse.

It should be noted that the series was produced only with a drive to the rear axle. The front remained inactive. Only in 1966 was produced the production of all-wheel drive car, which received the official index "452". Various modifications were made on its platform. And not only for public use, but also specialized cars intended for various uses. Here are some specialized models UAZ:

Modernization of 1985

UAZ models did not cease to exist, but after restyling they received another marking.

In the early 90's the car factory was converted, that is, its products became available to the ordinary population of the country, and not only to state structures. This allowed to increase the implementation of the 3151 series.

UAZ engine models became more diverse: instead of the same type of gasoline with a volume of 2445 cm3, diesel engines were used, and later injectors. This change significantly increased the power and power of the car. And it also simplified its operation.

Modern cars

To date, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant reserves the leading position in the production of off-road vehicles with increased cross-country ability. In addition to the classic production of "funnels", "nurses" and "tadpoles", the production of a car with the index 315195 - UAZ "Hunter" was set up. The model is a fairly successful project of the plant, made using the latest technical equipment.

Another modern model of the plant is UAZ Patriot. It can be called a luxury car (compared to other products). But the batch production did not justify its hopes and did not enjoy such popularity as the classic UAZ.

The latest development of the restyling Patriot, which is planned to be launched in the conveyor production this year, will meet many customer requirements, and most importantly, will be distinguished by a new engine model and corresponding moderate fuel consumption.
