Marina Kovtun: biography and career achievements

Marina Kovtun is a very famous woman even outside the Murmansk region. But, despite this, her personal life is a complete mystery, since she keeps her behind seven locks. Youth and Education

Kovtun Marina Vasilievna was born on March 10, 1962 in Murmansk. Her father was a well-known trammeister of the city Vasily Tikhonovich Kozlov, who received for his services the honorary title of Hero of Socialist Labor. It was his severe influence that forged the steel character of the future governor of the city.

She received her secondary education in Murmansk. After graduation, Marina Kovtun entered the Penza College of Soviet Trade. Upon his graduation in 1980 he passed examinations at the Higher Komsomol School at the Central Committee of the CPSU (today it is a humanitarian university in Moscow).

After graduation, he arranges to work in the All-Union Leninist Communist Youth Union (VLKSM), from where her ascent to Olympus glory begins.

  1. 1986 - appointment to the post of the head of the district committee of the Komsomol in the Kola district.
  2. End of 1992 - heads the committee on youth in the region.
  3. 1992 - managing the sector of taxation of individuals and foreign persons under the State Tax Service of the Kola District.
  4. 1994-2005 - Deputy Director of the Committee for the Development of Physical Culture, Sports and Tourism in the Murmansk region.
  5. Beginning of February, 2005 - receives a post of the deputy chief of Federal management on tourism.
  6. 2006-2009 - Head of the Department for Tourism Development at the Department of Economics of the Murmansk Region.
  7. 2009-2011 - becomes Deputy General Director of OJSC Kola MMC.
  8. December 2011 - wins the elections and becomes a deputy of the Murmansk regional Duma.
  9. From April 2012 to May 2014 he is the governor of the city. This post was appointed by Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin in connection with the early departure of the previous leader of the city.

It should be noted that in late May of the same year, Marina Kovtun was removed from the post of governor at her own request. This was due to the fact that she wanted to receive this post only after the official victory in the elections in September 2014. And her hopes were crowned with success. Beginning in October 2014, Marina Kovtun is governor of the Murmansk region.

Curiously, Marina is the third woman governor of Murmansk. People even start joking about this, as if men do not even have to claim this post.

Marriage brought them two children: a girl and a boy. The eldest daughter Marina was born in the first year of family life, in 1985, the boy Sasha nine years later. Now the children are studying and living in Moscow.

It should also be noted that, according to a recent monitoring of the magazine Ogonyok, Marina Kovtun is one of the most influential women in Russia. In "Top-100" of this edition, she takes an honorable 55th place.
