Stenographer

Nedochka Snitkina had to attend stenographers' courses in order to help the family financially. And then she, as the best student, was offered to work with Fedor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky, whose works she was reading. Dostoevsky had only 26 days to write a new novel and not get into bondage to the publisher. At the twenty-year-old girl the well-known writer caused an ambivalent impression. On the one hand - a genius, and on the other - unhappy, abandoned, lonely, from whom all need only one thing - money. From pity, one step to love, at least for a Russian woman. And Dostoevsky, feeling warmly, opened himself to the girl in all his sorrows. But they managed to work on the novel and successfully completed it on time. However, the publisher disappeared in order not to accept the manuscript. Anna Grigoryevna showed remarkable composure and handed over the manuscript to the police department. The duel with the publisher was won. The end of work of both of them grieved, and Fyodor Mikhailovich proposed to cooperate on the next thing. Moreover, she shyly suggested to the girl to become his wife. That's how Netochka Snitkina became a true and necessary friend of genius in 1867.

Complex ambiguous feelings

Anna Dostoyevskaya first of all regretted her husband, adored his talent and wanted to facilitate his life, which viciously interfered with relatives. Fyodor Mikhailovich suggested leaving St. Petersburg, but there was no money. Anna Dostoevskaya almost without hesitation laid her dowry - and here they are first in Moscow, and then in Geneva. There they stayed for four years. In Baden, Fyodor Mikhailovich lost absolutely everything that they had, up to the dresses of his wife. But, realizing that this is a disease, Anna Dostoyevskaya did not even reproach her husband. Her humility was appreciated by the Lord and cured forever by the player from his all-consuming passion. They had a daughter, but three months later she died. Both suffered unlimitedly. But the Lord sent them a second daughter. Together with her, they returned to their homeland. And in the first week in Russia they had a little son.

Change of character

All noted that Anna Dostoyevskaya became resolute and strong-willed. The writer has accumulated huge debts. To unravel the complicated material affairs, a young wife undertook, freeing the impractical writer from this routine. Dostoevsky could only be amazed at the perseverance and inflexibility of the character of a woman who loves and protects the family. She had time to do everything: work fourteen hours a day, take shorthand, correct, listen to new chapters of the novel at night, write a diary, watch the shaky health of her husband ... And when the third child appeared, she decided to publish the work herself.

Family affair

But Anna Grigorevna never neglected the little things. When they went somewhere, she was stocked with a rug to wrap her husband, took medicine for a cough, handkerchiefs. Even in Geneva, young spouses argued. Fyodor Mikhailovich assured that the woman is not capable of anything to do for a long time. On which, flushing up, Anna answered that she would start collecting stamps and would not abandon this occupation. Immediately I bought a clerk in the office shop and proudly pasted the first stamp with a letter that came to them. The mistress, seeing this, gave her old stamps. This was the beginning of the collection of Anna Dostoyevskaya. The most interesting thing is that she was engaged in philately for the rest of her life. Fyodor Mikhailovich was a very sick man. Emphysema brought him to the grave in 1881. Anne Grigorievna was thirty-five years old.
