Making wobblers own hands

What is better - to make wobblers yourself, or do you still buy it? Well, since you are reading this article, then, most likely, you chose the first one.

Wobblers own hands - it's, of course, troublesome. But buying in stores or ordering through catalogs is too expensive. And especially valuable is their value, when tribute is paid to snags and other traps. But on the production of a wobbler with their own hands, the money will go exactly as much as the tees used in the rigging, and plus a little more will go to "pointing the luster." But what opportunities will appear! That's where you can play with the form, and with color, and with the equipment!

We start making wobblers with the selection of material. The easiest way is to use the tree. The material is easily accessible and relatively easy to process. What a better tree is better for you. I suggest starting with willows or limes. Note: you will make a load, and with a denser and less floating material, the center of gravity will move more strongly downward, which will affect the "game". Choose the mature branches.

Knife cut off the necessary length of the piece and do a saw cut along half the thickness. You can make a small cut, and deepen later. The main thing is to prepare a place where the hacksaw will be inserted. Now we are working out the bait. It is better to stop your choice on a file that has a large notch. And prepare the files (with their help you can expand the cut). The side sections do as you wish: round, flat, oval. The shape of the bait will depend on the material. By the way, the thickening of the branch, its curvature can be profitable to affect the shape. Wire fittings are inserted into the cut.

Mentally we divide the wobbler into three parts. In the first segment (counting from the head), make a loop for the bottom hook, the second loop will be in the tail. Tees (if you plan) attach, taking into account the displacement of the center of gravity. The bulk is concentrated in the first third (in the head).

There are a lot of options. All, again, according to your desire. For example, on the abdomen, you can put 2 tees, and back - "odinarku", located sting up. Tees should not be mated when cast. Therefore, if you prefer the production of wobblers short, then use tees with the rods short. Long and heavy tees fit only for long wobblers. This will affect the "game".

In order to strengthen the weight of the tee lower, attach the lead. It is more expedient to make the rear tee short. With increasing its weight, the "game" is likely to be sluggish. Blade (if you plan) put in the cross cut. We turn the wobbler upside down (head to the left) and clamp it in the vice. We set the angle of the hacksaw (50 °, the deviations are permissible, the teeth are small) and perform the cut. Note: the larger the angle, the greater the immersion when rewinding with equal other parameters. If the blade is missing, the angle at the front end is made dull (100-120 °), this will affect the ascent.

Experience proves: in the catch wobblers, the projection of the blade is not more than 1/2 the height of the bait, the angle of the arrangement is 40 °. With a length of 6 cm and a mass of 7 g, the depth of the stroke is about one meter. The blade is fixed with glue epoxy.

Propyl with the inserted wire is poured with resin, leaving a little room for loading. We cover with pitch all the wobbler.

Now adjust the course of the wobbler. This can be done not only in the pond, but also in the bathroom. If the bait turned out good, it will be located vertically, the lift will lead it under the water. The wobblers should evenly swing horizontally, not showing sides. Usually the models with full bypass and wide blade-blades with an angle of 70 ° are more successful. "The game" in this case is energetic, deepening is great. Let's return to the adjustment. A large wobblack to keep the balance wire may not be enough. Then load it with lead, placed in propyl (between the first loop and the blade, closer to the blade). You can not use the load. When the wobbler lands on the side, push the load in from the side, making the hole an awl.

We continue making the wobblers. Smolim, skins and dipped in a varnish (always water resistant). Do a few dives in the lacquer, after waiting for the previous layer to dry. Making self-made wobblers is a long process, requiring patience. But is it worth talking about the patience of the fisherman, who anticipates the process of catching?

Now we proceed to the artistic part. Consider the example of "perch". We fall asleep an aluminum powder in a varnish, achieving kefir-like condition. We cover this lure with this solution. It becomes silvery. We wait until it dries and we apply a brush strip. We wait until the pattern dries. We drive into the varnish "green" and paint the back. Dry again. Add to the lacquer (the one with the "green") solvent (1: 3). We immerse the bait in the resulting solution (just do not overdo it). We dry in a suspended state. The stripes should spread slightly, which will make the view more natural, and the bright transition from the back to the abdomen will not be so contrasting. It remains to draw fins, eyes and gills.

And a few important points in the end:

- To avoid excessive flatness, do not place the loop too low;

- for the blade, take the fiberglass (it is technological, easy to handle and will not fly out of the blade in case of impact against the stone);

- insufficiently hermetically applied resin and varnish will cause a short bait service.

Making wobblers with their own hands will require skills, so do not despair if something does not work out the first time. It's not the gods that burn pots. Good luck!
