Loshitsa - a country estate in Belarus, reborn from ruins

The modern microdistrict of Minsk Loshitsa received its name from the ancient palace and park complex. Historians suggest that in the X-XIII centuries in this area there was a large fort site, which was gradually divided into several autonomous landholdings. The modern Loshitsa - the manor in which the museum is opened, and the adjacent park - has its history from the 18th century.

The heyday of the Lubansky estate complex

The farmstead, located in a picturesque place, always attracted and attracted wealthy people. The first mention of the palace and park complex, which has survived to this day, dates back to 1557. The most striking pages of the history of the manor and the adjacent park are connected with the Prushinsky, who became masters of the residence in the XVIII century. At that time the main house was rebuilt, a lot of outbuildings appeared, the park was arranged well. Even under Prushinsky, many famous and influential people came to Loschitsa, the estate was considered very rich.

And yet most often this estate is associated with the name of Eustace Ivanovich Lubansky. It was with this owner that the manor and park complex was recognized as exemplary for its time, and the number of noble guests increased at times. In Loshitsa, Evstafy Ivanovich lived with his young wife Jadwiga, their house was distinguished by hospitality and was tastefully furnished. Lubansky paid enough attention and arrangement of the park: he ordered plants from other countries, he himself conducted experiments on their crossing and growing in the open ground.

Modern pages of the history of Lošice

Lubanski are the last owners of a luxurious estate. The story of their life in Lošice has a sad ending. Yadwiga died at a fairly young age under mysterious circumstances. According to some sources, Eustathius buried his wife and left his estate forever after this mournful event.

In the 1920s Loshitsky Park and manor house became the location of the GPU of Belarus. Among the locals today there are legends heard from the relatives of the older generation about mass executions conducted on the territory of the palace and park complex, sounds of shots and people's shouts. In the Great Patriotic War the main manor house housed the headquarters of German commanders. In the post-war years, various organizations were located here, in particular: the Office of the UNRRA mission, the Belarusian branch of the All-Union Institute of Plant Industry, the equestrian club and the agro-complex, which is planting seedlings for sale.

Since 1988, Loshitsa is a manor that has received the status of a historical monument of architecture and culture and is under state protection.

Reconstruction and revival

In the second half of the 20th century, the manor house looked deplorable, it was a dilapidated dilapidated building, in need of repair and restoration. The competent organizations began to deal with this issue only in the 2000s. As it is a question of a monument of architecture and history, a banal "capital" repair for its revival would not be enough. The restoration was planned carefully, during which the big house was literally disassembled by a brick and a brick, and then reassembled. The Lubanski Manor was to become a museum in 2008, but the reconstruction of the facility was completed only in 2015. Today it is an elegant mansion with restored interior interiors and an abundance of antiques in them.

What does Loshitsa look like today (a farmstead, Minsk)?

Restoration of the manor house took quite a long time. The thing is that at the time of the beginning of the work the building's condition was approaching the ruinous one. Inside, only the elements of stucco and wooden elements, as well as tiled stoves, were preserved . The situation was complicated by the fact that there were very few photographs of the interiors, and the genuine pieces of furniture and personal belongings of the Lubanski - even less. Before the restorers was set a difficult task - to maximally preserve and restore what is possible, as well as to come up with all the missing elements.

Today Loshitsa is a country estate in which the life of the last owners is not kept in detail, but is reproduced in high quality. Each room is designed in its own unique style. Most of the interior items are originals of the XVIII-XIX centuries. All modern elements of interior decoration and decoration were made by the best masters of their craft by hand. In the manor house there is even a room, covered with wallpaper, which the restorers have made independently, since no factory will undertake the production of several rolls for special order.

A museum or a universal cultural and entertainment complex?

The manor house and the surrounding Loshitsky park are already receiving tourists today. In the main building, the first floor demonstrates the reconstruction of the life of noblemen of the XIX century, and the second one hosts a variety of exhibitions. For visiting is opened also an outbuilding, all adjoining territory is improved and well-groomed.

Loshitsky Park is now an excellent place for walking the residents and visitors of the city. It peacefully neighbors tablets and monuments with historical references, modern playgrounds and cobbled paths. In the recreation area you can see rare plants, as well as old trees, some of them, according to experts, more than a hundred years.

In the near future it is planned to reconstruct the other buildings of the manor complex. The museum management strives to make it as interesting as possible, today balls and cultural events are held here, newlyweds are offered a solemn marriage registration.

Legends and ancient legends

Loshitsa is a manor, with which many interesting stories and superstitions are associated. One of the most interesting and common legends of this place is connected with the death of the wife of the last owner of the Lubansky EI estate.

His wife was a woman of incredible beauty and even after her marriage had many admirers. Yadviga Lubanska died at a young age and under strange circumstances. At night, the woman alone left the manor house and went to the river, in the morning she was found drowned near an inverted boat. Local gossips claimed that Jadwiga had an affair with a young man. According to some, she committed suicide. There were rumors of an unsuccessful attempt to escape from the lawful husband.

The woman was buried here, in Lošice, in a Roman Catholic chapel. There are rumors that her soul has not found peace, and even nowadays the specter of Jadwiga can be seen not far from the burial place or the main manor house.
