"Kosmopore" - plaster for the protection of wounds

Kosmopor is a plaster made of non-woven soft material in the form of a self-adhesive bandage with a special absorbent pad that does not stick to the wound.

general information

This dosage form is used mainly for sterile care for various minor skin lesions. In addition, Kosmopor plaster, the price of which is (on average) five hundred to six hundred rubles per package, is recommended to be used to protect against infection in postoperative wounds. The manufacturer also emphasizes the hypoallergenic characteristics of this product, since its adhesive base is made of synthetic rubber-based glue. In addition, experts note the high protective properties, excellent sorption ability and sterility of this patch. All this minimizes the risk of any undesirable skin reactions when using Kosmopor. Plaster (the sizes are the most different) is also very simple and convenient to use and easy to remove.

Composition of the plaster

At the heart of this medical bandage is non-woven polyester, the absorbent pad consists of a special absorbent viscose, and the adhesive surface is made from a synthetic rubber glue made without the addition of rosin. As for the coating, it is produced from a polyethylene micro-net, and the protective layer is made by the manufacturer from silicone-treated paper, which has a mandatory mark of the opening location of the Kosmopor package. The plaster itself, or rather, its wound cushion, consists of two separate layers. The first is the one that directly contacts the wound, and the second is the absorbent pad. The layer in contact with the damaged skin consists of polyethylene, which effectively prevents adhesion. As for the absorbent padding, it is made of viscose, which ensures the absorption of exudate.

Instructions for use

If we talk about the peculiarities of using this patch, then first of all the manufacturer recommends correctly to choose a bandage according to the size, which is the most suitable to the size of skin damage.

Next, it is necessary to open the individual packaging in the package indicated on the package, slightly pulling the unshielded edges. After that, you need to get the bandage "Kosmopor". The patch will then have a protective paper coating, which will need to be removed and only then apply a bandage to the wound. Do this in such a way that the viscose absorbent pad completely covers the damage. Then it is necessary to squeeze the patch very gently and, without exerting pressure on the wound, smooth the adhesive part. After that, you can remove the second part of the protective paper coating of "Kosmopor". Re-smooth the patch and press it lightly against the skin. Dispose of this bandage after use according to the official regulations on the disposal of medical waste.
