Abdominal cavity of a person - examination

The abdominal cavity, also called the abdominal cavity, is a space that is filled with internal organs. It is located below the diaphragm in the trunk. The systems and organs in the human abdominal cavity are the digestive tract along with the pancreas and liver, the kidneys, the stomach, the genitourinary system and the spleen.

The abdominal cavity is, in fact, the peritoneal cavity and retroperitoneal space. The peritoneum is called the serous membrane, which is lined with a cavity. This membrane separates the abdominal cavity from the retroperitoneal space. The organs located in the cavity develop between the wall of the cavity and the peritoneum.

They move away from the wall at their growth and grow into the peritoneum. Thus, it turns out that they pull it out, producing a serous fold, which consists of two sheets. Such folds from the wall of the cavity pass to the areas of the intestinal canal. They are called mesentery. The folds that move from the wall to the organs (the liver, for example) are called ligaments.

As you can see, the area in question is of extreme importance, therefore it needs periodic medical examination.

Abdominal organs: ultrasound (ultrasound)

This kind of research is the most common. At the same time, the abdominal cavity is examined by a convection sensor through the abdominal wall. In addition to the parenchymal organs, an image of the intestine and organs of the retroperitoneal space is obtained. So, men technically simply examine the bladder, the prostate gland, and in women - the uterus, the ovaries and also the bladder.

Often the study of all these structures is carried out simultaneously. Ultrasound located in the abdominal cavity of the organs has a high diagnostic value. Since the programs of abdominal examination are equipped with almost all ultrasound devices, such a study can be carried out in almost any medical institution.

If the patient needs to quickly determine the general health status, then this method is the most revealing. Such a study allows us to discover the most common "pathologies of civilization". We are talking, first of all, about diseases caused by improper diet, increased caloric intake, and alcohol abuse.

With the development of pathological symptoms, it is very likely that a person will be referred to a diagnostic examination. Of course, regular preventive examinations are much preferable, which allow avoiding irreversible pathological processes.

With ultrasound, it is possible to examine not only those organs that have already been mentioned in the article, but also the abdominal aorta with its branches, the lower vena cava with tributaries. Partly covered with peritoneum and pelvic organs. The bladder belongs to the preperitoneal space. They can also be examined by ultrasound.

Preparing for ultrasound

Almost all people have experienced ultrasound of certain organs. Man's abdominal cavity simply requires more thorough preparation. An obstacle for such a procedure can be gases and air that accumulate in the intestine. This research is best done in the morning.

A few days before the procedure, it is recommended to refrain from eating fiber-rich foods. Sometimes it is required to clean the intestines. This purification is done with a laxative or enema. Before such a study, smoking and chewing gum are excluded .

This examination helps to fix any abnormalities in the examined organs. All of them are subject to careful documentation with preservation of photographs or recording on removable storage media.
