The rules for boarding the airline KLM

Since 2013, the company has begun to develop a new method for carrying passengers. It consists in the fact that first the seating of the people sitting in the tail of the airliner is made. The last to board are those who are sitting by the corridor at the beginning of the salon. The purpose of this method is to reduce the preparation time of the aircraft and provide comfort to the airline customers.

The mechanism is as follows. In the clean zone near the boarding gate, passengers are given numbers. When a landing is announced, passengers of certain numbers are called to the exit. At the same time, priority is also maintained - passengers with children and reduced physical abilities, as well as members of the Sky Priority program, are the first to be called up.

However, in practice such a technique is ineffective. It leads to the accumulation of passengers in front of the entrance to the plane, since the first to block the corridors. This often leads to discontent on the part of passengers and unscheduled delays in departure.

Now the new technology of landing is applied only on flights from Amsterdam to Helsinki, Berlin, Budapest. In the future it is planned to improve it and apply it on all flights.
