Human anatomy: subclavian muscle

Muscular subclavian belongs to the number of paired chest surface. The zone is limited to the following bodies:

  • Jugular notch from above;
  • A line of costal arches, a xiphoid process.

General information

The muscle participates in the activity of the shoulder girdle and allows the person to move his hands. In addition, it is involved in the process of breathing. The size of the body is small, located parallel to the collarbone. The subclavian muscle, as the name implies, is shifted downward relative to the clavicle.

The organ starts from the first rib from the cartilage, passes through the slit-shaped gap, due to which it is located in the area of the clavicle and the first rib, dividing them. From below, the muscle is firmly fixed on the acromial end. The form of the organ is cylindrical, elongated. Of the other elements of the muscular system, the closest is to the large thoracic system.

Operation

If the subclavian muscle in normal tone, it allows you to pull back the clavicle:

  • Inside;
  • down.

This ensures stability of the joints of the chest and clavicle. If the upper limbs are fixed without movement, the subclavian muscle helps to breathe, as it raises the first rib, that is, it is an auxiliary respiratory one.

Innervation is provided by the subclavian nerve. Blood flow is guaranteed:

  • Pectoral artery;
  • Transverse artery.

Radiculitis is a disorder that causes the subclavian muscle to suffer . The functions of the body are inhibited, and the person suffers from severe pain.

Radicular syndrome, as is known to science this type of radiculitis, is a subspecies of cervical osteochondrosis. When the disease is squeezed spinal nerves, as the distance between the vertebrae decreases. Radiculitis can provoke:

Remember that exercises are chosen that complexly affect the pectoral muscles. This approach provides the most pronounced effect in just 1-2 months. It is important not to overdo it with training, especially at first, since overload can lead to inflammation and organ damage.

The simplest exercise for training a subclavian muscle:

  • Raise your hand relative to the horizon by 45 degrees;
  • Follow the position: the thumb should be turned to the left;
  • On the inside of the forearm rest on the stand;
  • Right to left gently strain the joint.

A good option is push-ups from the floor. Such exercises affect all pectoral muscles at once, lead a person into tonus and pump up their hands. Sequence:

  • The athlete takes an emphasis lying down, placing his feet on the bench, arms spreading to the width of his shoulders, bending his elbows and touching the chest of the floor;
  • Hands straighten quickly, no longer than a second;
  • Lower 3 seconds until the chest touches the floor;
  • Repeat the cycle for less than 30 times.

The effect is noticeable more strongly if this exercise is supplemented with a set of push-ups, slightly different in technique: hands are put closer to each other, minimizing the distance between the thumbs. Squeeze until the triceps does not appear intolerable burning. Then rest for 45 seconds, relaxing, shaking hands, and begin a new cycle of push-ups. This time, the arms are spread widely, the bench press is lying down.

To fix the effect, the fourth cycle of push-ups is performed, placing arms on the width of the shoulders. This is not necessary, since the correct execution of the first three cycles leads to severe fatigue.

The subclavian muscle is more efficiently pumped if the athlete stands at a wide emphasis. Additionally, it activates the key head and provides a good stretch. With a narrow emphasis, performing training exercises is more difficult, since most of the weight falls on the elbows. This position provides a good load also on the breast and the muscles close to it.

The quality of pumping the subclavian muscle depends on the position of the legs during training. By placing the lower limbs on a hill, the athlete activates all pectoral muscles in a complex manner. To exclude injuries, it is necessary to warm up beforehand, and only then to start push-ups.

The key advantage of the described exercises is undemanding to places where they can be practiced. Going on holiday, being at home, finding 10-15 free minutes at work in the lunch break, a person can gradually pump up the subclavian muscle, thereby eliminating the likelihood of its inflammation, and also providing himself a good, beautiful figure.
