How to plant a rose from the cuttings and prepare shoots for planting?

If you were presented on a solemn day with a chic bouquet of mind-blowing roses, you can get a double joy from him. After all, life of a bouquet does not necessarily end after the flowers are faded. If you know how to properly plant roses with cuttings, you can revive the flower you like in your garden. Let's learn to do it competently.

How to plant a black stem of a rose

What should I remember first? The first is the disappointing fact that only a healthy rose is capable of giving offspring (meaning a rooted stem). Choose strong shoots, evenly green in color, strong, without stains. The buds of such roses bloom for a long time, sometimes more than a week. A sick and stunted flower can not take root properly. Second: roses should be from your climatic zone. After all, if you live in Russia, and the flower flew from Holland, the chances of taking root with such an escape are not great. The best time for this is the end of spring or the beginning of summer. It is during this period that the shoots of roses grow actively. But in July and August, the plant also has some chances of rooting. In the cold season, they are minimal.

How to plant a rose from a cut: preparation of shoots

Soak the stems of fresh and flowering roses in clean cool water for about a day. This is important - in any case, do not cut cuttings from freshly donated cut plants. They spent a long time without moisture and are not in the best condition. Before planting a rose from the handle, it must be well-saturated with moisture, and it must also mature a little. It is better to lower the shoots in a bucket of water - but the buds should not be immersed in it. For the time that they are there, you need to cut the tips a couple of times (with a sharp knife, without taking it out of the water). Change the water until the flower begins to drop the petals - waiting may take more than one day. This process means the maturation of the shoot and the fact that it is possible to start the cuttings. Use for any manipulation of roses only the most sharp knife - this will prevent the crease of the stem tissues. On each cut, leave no more than two kidneys. The first should be located at a distance of about seven millimeters above the lower cut. Before planting a rose from the handle, on the shoot you need to remove most of the leaves, leaving no more than two. And the top sheet is better than half cut. This prevents moisture loss, evaporating from the surface of the leaves. If the roses are small, and the value of the variety is high, then one-side cuttings (six to eight centimeters long) can be cut - this will increase the amount of planting material. For some roses, small cuttings also take root better. If the kidney is one, then it should be located in the middle of the shoot.

How to plant a rose from a handle? Stage of rooting

For everything to be successful, you need either a shaded garden bed, or a mini-greenhouse in the house. Substrate from a large quantity of water washed with large river sand and garden soil. Single-strand cuttings should be located vertically in the ground, and double-strand cuttings with deepening of the lower kidney under a slight inclination. Watering the seedling, it needs to be covered with a jar. With the further introduction of moisture into the soil, water should be poured along the edges of the pot or under the jar.
