Saab 9000 is a car of the Swedish company "Saab" in the category of business class, with very high technical characteristics. Based on the Type Four chassis, which we are familiar with in Alfa Romeo 164. Thus, the entire design of the Saab 9000 was made in the Italian workshop of Georges Giugiaro. The car was produced from 1984 to 1998 as an invariably a business class car. Until 1988, the Saab 9000 went on sale exclusively in the version of the five-door hatchback, with a powerful 175-strong, 16-valve, four-cylinder DOHC engine, and at the same time equipped with a 4-speed automatic transmission.
In 1988, the Saab 9000 sedan was added to the hatchback. The parallel release of both modifications continued until 1992. In cars there was an on-board computer that carried the function of an information, as well as a monitoring device. Fuel and oil level, temperature in the cooling system, brake overheating, tire pressure - these and many other parameters were monitored by a compact electronic device. Data from all indicators and sensors of the car were also processed in the on-board computer and displayed on the display. Manufacturer Saab 9000 (reviews were only enthusiastic) did not skimp on all sorts of useful options for the convenience of the driver and passengers.
The salon of the machine contained the maximum number of accessories, devices and devices that maintain a sufficiently high level of comfort. The air conditioner supplied multi-layered separate cooling to each passenger seat. Convenience and comfort - these two positions were placed at the forefront in the production of Saab 9000. The chassis of the car also participated in maintaining comfort at the proper level. Front lever-spring suspension Saab 9000 - this is widely known for its reliability independent Ferson. The rear suspension of the machine is super-strong, on double wishbones with stabilization rods.
Of particular importance was the Saab 9000 ignition system. Until 1993, the usual Bosch LH-Jetronic was installed on the machine with the usual distributor traverse, and at the same time an experimental Direct Ignition of direct action was used, with a separate induction coil per cylinder. The DI system was controlled by an on-board computer, from the equipment there was only a small cartridge fixed to the cylinder head . In 1992, the Saab 9000 CS model was created with an updated design, in fact, a new front end, a stylish radiator grille and significantly changed its outlines in the rear hatchback sector.
They were second generation cars. The engines were mounted on them with a low-pressure turbocharger, rated at 150 hp. And turbocharged high pressure, rated at 175 hp. Five-seater four-door sedan was equipped with an even more powerful engine in 200 hp, also with a turbo. And later on all machines were installed six-cylinder engines in volume of 3.0 liters with V-shaped arrangement of cylinders of GM. In 1993, the updated Saab 9000 Aero tuning with a 225-horsepower engine was introduced. This machine has already had to restrain, because unrestrained power was controlled with difficulty, the computer simply could not cope with the task of speed optimization.
