How to make a Rapunzel costume for a girl with her own hands

Girls love pink color, princesses and beautiful dresses. Not surprisingly, the heroine of the Disney cartoon "Confused story" - a golden-haired girl with a character named Rapunzel - won their hearts. The dress of the future princess likes girls from young to old. In special stores or on the Internet, you will easily find the Rapunzel costume. But the prices for such goods are usually high, and children grow quickly. But after spending a little time and imagination, you can make a Rapunzel costume yourself with much less expenses. In the article, we describe several options, each of which is designed for skilled workers with different skill levels.

Simple costume Rapunzel for girls

Do you think it's impossible to make an outfit for a child without sewing? You are mistaken.

Look at the Rapunzel costume presented below.

To make it top, it was necessary only to take a pink turtleneck, with glue "spider" to paste ribbons on the chest to simulate the corset and with the help of tulle ribbons in two stitches to make sleeves-buffers. Bows can be bought ready, you can do yourself. But with the bottom will have to work a little longer. For him you will need:

  • Wide satin ribbon - 1 m (slightly larger if the child is older);
  • Tulle in shades of pink and light lilac-4-5 m (or several coils of wide tulle ribbons);
  • scissors;
  • A large cardboard box.

How to make a universal lush tutu?

The work is done simply and quickly:

  1. Cut the tulle of different shades into strips 10 cm wide (so that they are about the same, roll out the fabric and mark with pin tailings every 10 cm).
  2. Now you need to cut the finished ribbons into parts that are 2 times larger than the desired length of the skirt, + 5 cm. For this, it is convenient to wrap them on a cardboard of the appropriate size and then cut at the folding point.
  3. Now take the satin ribbon. So that it does not become soaked in the toe, scorch its tips with a lighter. Stitch the tulle fold in half, put the loop on top of the satin and thread the loose ends of the tulle into it. You will have a bundle that reliably will keep it based. Continue to repeat this step until the skirt becomes lush.

After that, a simple costume Rapunzel, made with his own hands, is ready.

A lush skirt can be used to create different images - other princesses, fairies or just ballet dancers. And since the belt is easily regulated, the child will not grow out of it for a long time (in truth, it is more likely that the tulle will be smeared and torn than the skirt will be small).

New Year costume "Rapunzel"

If you need to come up with an outfit not just for games, but for a birthday party or birthday, then you can develop the idea of a skirt-tutu and make a full dress. Good news: you do not even need to take a needle in your hands.

Here's how the dress looks, which can be done almost the same way as the previous costume:

For work you will need:

  • Tulle of 3 colors: pink, purple, light lilac - 6-7 m total (whole fabric or in ribbons);
  • A wide elastic openwork bandage;
  • Ribbons pink and purple - 1 and 3 m, respectively;
  • Large rhinestones;
  • Glue gun.

The order of work on the suit

The process can be divided into 4 stages:

  1. To the elastic base, attach the tulle in the same way as in the previous version of the suit. But since the bandage has many rows with holes, it is best to make several rows of nodules - so the skirt will become even more magnificent.
  2. Pink ribbon make an imitation corset on the chest.
  3. With a purple ribbon, make straps - just thread them with a loop just like the tulle threaded, and throw it on your back. To choose their optimal length, it is best to try on a dress for a child. Then pass the ribbons on the back in the form of a lacing and tie the ends with a bow.
  4. Using hot glue, glue large crystals on the skirt.

Wig and crown - and you can safely go to the matinee.

More difficult work

If you have the basic skills of cutting and working with a sewing machine, then you can make a real carnival costume Rapunzel. Of course, it will take much more time, but it corresponds quite accurately to the cartoonish image of the heroine and is suitable for older girls.

Materials (the footage depends on the age and parameters of the child):

  • Dense lilac fabric - 4 m;
  • Lining fabric - 4 m;
  • Translucent fabric of violet color - 2 m;
  • Pink tape - 5 m;
  • Velcro - 3 pairs;
  • Glued web - 2 m;
  • Thread in tone;
  • Gum width of 3-4 cm - 1 m;
  • Sewing accessories and a typewriter.

Work on the top of the suit

  1. To ease the task, take a T-shirt that sits well on the child, fold it in half and circle it - this will be a pattern of the armhole.
  2. Similarly, go with a t-shirt or a turtleneck to choose the shape of the sleeve and the length of the bodice. Now make changes to the resulting patterns. Increase the pattern of the sleeve at the top and bottom, because the Rapunzel costume has lush sleeves on the dress; Make a copy of the pattern of the bodice and add a pointed end to the bottom edge to simulate the corset.
  3. Using the resulting patterns, cut from the fabric two halves for the backrest and one solid piece for the transfer. Do not forget about the allowances for seams. Repeat the step to make identical parts from the lining fabric, align them with the main fabric.
  4. Stretch the shoulders, then work the edges of the cutout. Then combine the bottom edges of the main fabric and the lining, baste, stitch and iron (in all 3 details).
  5. On a pattern, cut out the sleeves from the square of the main and lining fabric bent in half. Grind them in pairs.
  6. Sew on the front side of the parallel pink ribbons.
  7. Measure the girth of the child's hand, cut out a rectangle 5 cm wide, the length taken + 2 cm on the seams.
  8. Stitch the sleeve blank with wide stitches and pull the thread to attach the fabric. Sweep the edge of the sleeve and sew.
  9. Now you can collect the top. Sweep the sleeve and stitch the shoulder seam. Then join the sides of the dress.
  10. To make it comfortable to wear, treat the edges of the sections of the back parts and sew 3 pairs of Velcro.
  11. Take a pink ribbon with a stock (about 2 m) and sew in front, simulating lacing.

Making a skirt

To complete the Rapunzel costume for a girl, it remains to finish his bottom. Here the process is quite simple:

  1. Remove the measurements from the child - the waist girth and the desired length of the skirt (from the waist to the ankle + 7 cm). Add the allowance to the seam and multiply the waist circumference by 2. Using these parameters, open a large rectangle of the main fabric, the lining and the beautiful translucent material.
  2. Align all the layers, baste, stitch the edges and the side seam.
  3. Perhaps your machine will chew the decorative material. In this case, use a glue "spiderweb".
  4. Fold the top edge of the skirt and stitch it so that to make a kulisku wide enough to pass the gum. Stretch it with a pin and sew.

In this costume, Rapunzel, consisting of two easy-to-wear parts, is ready.
