In severe Russian winters, heated pipes are not a luxury, but a forced necessity or a simple precautionary measure. If the water supply or sewerage system freezes, the defrosting will be very difficult due to weather conditions, and the cost will be higher than for similar work in the summer.

Modern technologies can significantly reduce and even minimize such a problem as the freezing of pipes. Various heating cables and films protect water and sewerage from the effects of low temperatures. Cable heating

This method of heating pipes is the most common. There are two methods of fixing the cable: along the pipes and spiral winding. In either case, the heating element must be fixed. Do this best with special adhesive tapes that do not respond to high temperatures. For example, aluminum tape. After the cable has been laid, it is necessary to make the insulation of the water pipe. But before doing this, you should put a layer of screen foil film. This is necessary to ensure that the heated pipes receive heat evenly. This approach allows you to increase the efficiency of the cable. And then the thermal insulation of the water pipe itself is already carried out. To insulate the heater for a longer time to maintain its performance, it must be closed with a waterproofing film. If the water pipe is laid above the ground, it is also necessary to protect it from wind and mechanical influences, for example, a wooden, plastic or metal box.

Film heating

This method has recently gained great popularity due to its characteristics. First, it is easier to mount such a material. The film should be simply wrapped around the pipe and fixed with the same aluminum tape. Secondly, the efficiency of film heating is higher than that of cable. This is due to the fact that the film completely surrounds the pipes of the water supply system, which makes it possible to perform an even warm-up. It is not necessary to do screening in this case. The next step is to heat the heated pipes. Also, care must be taken to protect the resulting structure from moisture and mechanical influences.

Heating of sewer pipes

Pipes of the sewage system can be heated in the same ways as water pipes. But it should be borne in mind that the consumption of heating cable or heating film will be greater, since the diameter of such pipes is much larger. But there is another way - laying the heating cable inside the pipe. Naturally, it is also necessary to make the heat insulation of the sewerage system in order to reduce heat losses and increase the efficiency of the heating operation.

Sufficiently simple work in a warm period of time allows you to make heated pipes that can easily transfer even the most terrible winter frosts. The water supply and sewerage will always function in the regular mode due to the action of the automated heating system.
