Grapes of Sergeev Nikolay Georgievich: technology of cultivation and photo

Nikolai Sergeev is a navigator in the past. He started gardening after retirement, at 40 years old. Nikolai Sergeev grape grows for about two decades. And he does it not somewhere in the south, but in the Urals. The place where Sergeyev grows grapes is Yuzhnouralsk.

He created his own system of preparing seedlings, planting, growing and harvesting. With his knowledge and experience, Nikolai Sergeyev generously shares with all those who wish.

He advises which varieties are better to grow in a zone of risky farming. After all, often beginning gardeners, using the recommendations of friends or other sources, try to grow a vine and get a harvest. But they fail.

How does he grow grapes?

Sergeev admits that of the five first bushes planted twenty years ago, only one disappeared. Others feel great and bear fruit.

In 2001, Sergeyev began to share his experience and cuttings with gardeners from many countries around the world. Particularly interested in its northern boundary is the spread of its varieties. In his book "Home Vineyard" Nikolai Sergeyev says that the berries have time to ripen already at 64 degrees north latitude. This is the Perm region, Krasnovishersk.

Sergeev not only creates new varieties of grapes. He holds All-Russian congresses of gardeners, where they gather to share the experience of wine growers from different regions and countries. He also films films about his methods of growing grapes.

In the fall of 2010, Sergeyev had almost a hundred and fifty varieties. But now he grows not only grapes. Sergeev cultivates hazelnuts, peaches, apricots. Now he pays more attention to them. He says that every thing a person has to do for 7 years. Then, having reached a possible level of skill, begins to make mistakes. So you need to take on something else.

Place of planting

To determine whether the place for grape planting is properly chosen, one can by the way it grows and develops. But replanting a large bush is dangerous. He will take a long time to get accustomed, to be ill.

The place for planting is the most sunny, open. It grows well on the slopes, except for the northern ones. After all, the earth warms up much later. Therefore, the flowering time is prolonged, and after it the ripening of the grapes (for a month).

The slope angle of the slope should be equal to the latitude of the locality where it is grown. Then the amount of light and heat from the sun will be maximum.

Accommodation of vines

Grapes Sergeev places in seven rows. The vine is located so that no one closes the other, no matter how the sun turns during the day. For this he advises placing bushes from north to south. A deflection of 45 degrees is allowed.

The grapes grow well on a flat surface. Do not land it in the lowland. There is always going to cold air, excess moisture, from which the roots rot or freeze.

Sergeyev grapes advise to plant on the south side walls, fences, buildings. But to do this south of the Moscow-Vladivostok main line is needed for 2 m. In more northern areas, this needs to be done even further, up to 3 m. The sun's rays will reflect off the wall and warm up the area around.

Grapes Sergeev protects from cold gusts of wind. For this, he advises using sheets of polycarbonate. It is supported by pillars of pipes, fittings installed at a distance of 1 m from each other so that the wind does not bend the sheet.

You can plant a bush from the south side of the tree. He climbs up, on the crown, where he warms up well. The only drawback of this method is that it will be difficult to harvest.

But it is necessary to plant Amur varieties from the northern side of the tree. Lighting should be diffused, so that the temperature of the soil near the roots does not exceed 26 degrees. Otherwise, they will cease to grow, and at 30 degrees begin to die.

Do not plant grapes in a geopathic place. True, it can usually be determined only by trial and error.

A good idea is to place grapes on a horizontal trellis, which will allow using less space in the garden.

The soil

Grapes grow well on sandy soils. They warm up well. The moisture does not stay there, the roots do not rot. Best of all, it grows in soil, which consists of earth, coarse-grained river sand and humus. There you need to make rubble, expanded clay. An interesting point is the addition of bones (not meat-and-bone meal) containing phosphorus. From it the berries become sweeter.

Dolomite serves as a supplier of calcium, wood ash - potassium.

Buckwheat husk makes the soil more friable.

He does not advise Sergeyev to take land from under the stumps because of the presence of bacteria, loam containing salts, because of which the soil forms a crust on the soil after rain.

Do not take the soil in the store. Often it is brought from greenhouses, contains many bacteria and micro-organisms, poisons.

Planting

How to plant the vine of Sergeyev? Planting depends on climatic conditions, soil and size of the seedling. On fertile, loose soils that do not freeze in winter, you can make a hole with crowbar and plant a stalk there. But only one that has 6 eyes. If there are 2-3 of them, it is better to plant them under a shovel.

North of the pit is digging, if the bushes are many - a trench. The shape of the pit is a cube with a side of 1 m.

Between the bushes are left from 3 to 4 m, between rows - from 2 to 4 m.

If the soil in the garden is very bad, then you can make high ridges. For this, the prepared soil is poured above the ground level in the garden. Under it there is a drainage of stones and bricks.

Pits are cooked 2-3 months before planting. You can pour the prepared mixture abundantly with water so that it settles, and plant grapes.

Saplings

Saplings receive:

  • Chinese laps, dropping the sleeve;
  • In containers consisting of two bottles. The top without a lid, so that the air does not stagnate. After the appearance of the first sheet, the shelter is removed.
  • Directly into the soil, digging in the chibouk, installed at an angle, completely.

Before planting, the chibouks are soaked in snow water until they drown. This means that they have fully restored their condition.

Such seedlings are ready for planting in the second year, until the moment when the kidneys begin to develop. But the soil should warm up to 15 degrees.

Care

Seedling watered, the soil around it loosen, remove the weeds.

Two-year-olds and older bushes remove excess shoots, grown from the ground. Tear off the leaves half a meter from the ground. Remove excess shoots, grown from a single kidney.

At the end of August, the tops of the shoots are cut off, on which the crowns are straightened (the ends are straightened), so that the vine will be overwintered better.

Remove the stepchildren.

At the end of summer the berries begin to darken. Sergeyev advises to tear off the leaves, which can obscure them. But too early to do this is not necessary, so that the sun's rays do not burn the fruit.

If the soil is properly prepared during planting, then it is not necessary to fertilize the bush.

Wintering

How to prepare for the winter grapes Sergeev (Yuzhnouralsk)? It is better to create high beds for him. To do this, he builds the lateral parts of the structure of wood. She puts the vine there and covers it with polycarbonate.
