Park "Festivalny" in Moscow: history, description and familiarization route

Walking with children in big cities sometimes becomes a real problem. The hum of automobile engines, dust, noise and vanity of the metropolis are not encouraging at all. And then the children's parks become a real salvation. In any of them you can safely rest and adults and children. Although no, the children have a rest for nothing - they will find a lot of entertainment for themselves. One of such places in the stifling capital of Russia is the Festival Park, which will be discussed later.

History

Once upon a time the present children's park was located Lazarevskoe cemetery. At first, in the 17th century, it was a small churchyard for the infidels. A century later, people who were not identified were found here last refuge. After the construction of the Church of the Descent of the Holy Spirit was completed in 1787, which is still standing here, wealthy people belonging to the noble estate considered it acceptable to bury their loved ones here. But by the beginning of the last century the cemetery was already quite neglected. In 1934 it was decided to liquidate it, and two years later the park named after Dzerzhinsky was opened on this site. His main goals were military-patriotic education of the younger generation, as well as the solution of physical culture, health and ecology-biological problems.

Renaming took place in 1985, after reconstruction. Then it got its present name Festival Park. "Marina Grove" is its second name. By the way, it is located near the metro station with this name. The last reconstruction of the park was at the very beginning of the new century - in 2000.

Temple

Lazarevsky cemetery, on which the temple of the Descent of the Holy Spirit was built, has long been gone, but the church has remained. Although she had to go through a lot. Originally, a wooden temple was created, named after the righteous Lazar Chetverdnevnogo. In the 1780's. Merchant Luka Dolgov, who was a well-known benefactor at that time, allocated money for erecting a stone structure. It was done in the style of the so-called early classicism. It should be noted that the temple has changed slightly over the centuries.

Even after the end of the October Revolution, services were performed here. Often they were conducted by Patriarch Tikhon. However, the closure of the temple was a foregone conclusion. It happened in 1932. At that time all property was confiscated. The structure was transferred to the plant in order to create a hostel for the workers in it. Fortunately, later the temple was recognized as an architectural monument. This is what saved him from imminent, it seemed, destruction. The repair was carried out in the 1960s, thanks to which the crosses were restored. But the interior decoration has disappeared without a trace. Believers were returned to the church in 1991.

Objects in the park

Today, the Festival Park boasts some very interesting places. So, there is a big greenhouse, pigeon dwellings, a pen for horses, playgrounds, etc. Those who like can play volleyball, basketball or streetball on specially equipped venues. For fans of mini-football, too, there is a place, and not one - in the center of the park are two fields with artificial cover. The sports and recreational complex (its area - 1,5 thousand square meters) has four sports halls.

Classes and competitions

Sports sections and associations of the Festival Park are visited every year by thousands of children. For today, there are more than 40 associations. Among them, football, dressage, choreography and rhythm, badminton, tennis, basketball, gymnastics, the foundations of martial arts, etc. can be distinguished among them. Experienced teachers, many of whom - masters of sports. In the summer there is a wellness camp, and in winter, ski runs are laid.

Park "Festival" often in its territory accepts participants in various competitions, both city level and state. So, here competitions are held on karate, capoeira, etc. For participants of street basketball matches, the Festival Park (Moscow) becomes almost the center of the universe every summer. All activities related to this direction are held here.

First visit to the park

Did you visit the Festival Park with your child for the first time? The photos taken here will take a worthy place in your album. You can bring your bike or scooter, ball or set for badminton, and for younger kids - sand molds and buckets with blades. And if there is a desire to better explore the park, we suggest you go to a small improvised trip.

So, you went to the park "Festival" from the main entrance, which is located at the intersection of the street. Suschevsky Val with the Olympic Avenue. Immediately on your way comes the main building. Here there are classes in sports sections, matinees and children's parties are held. You can pay attention to the training schedule, if for you it is actual (for example, you choose which section to give your child to). In the same case, it will be superfluous to find out when open classes are held in the selected sections to see for their own eyes how the teachers conduct training.

Opposite the main building you will see a playground on which here and there are fairy-tale characters. Such a "magic glade" is sure to delight the kids. However, you can only play mobile games, run with the child, while on the central playground there are sandboxes and slides with swings and roundabouts, and a specially designated place for skating and biking.

At the other end of the park there is a small playground for children. Here, too, there are sandboxes and a hill. In winter, ski runs are laid on its territory. Very close to the dovecote. That's really what will truly attract the attention of the child! Birds can be fed, photographed or shot on a video camera, and information about them will be helped by an information stand. Another interesting place for both the child and adults is the equestrian sports complex. Here you can watch how the coach teaches other children to ride horses, and your baby will enjoy this spectacle.

Conclusion

Well, we think that enough information is provided for the first acquaintance with such an object as the Park Festival. Moscow is rich in such places. For example, if you leave from here via an additional exit not far from the equestrian center, then you will need to walk very little to the left, and before you stretches Ekaterininsky Park, which is considered one of the oldest and most interesting in the capital.
