Goodison Park is a famous football stadium. It is located in Great Britain, namely in Liverpool. Serves as the arena of the football team Everton. It was built in 1892. It is considered one of the oldest stadiums in the UK. Prior to the appearance of Goodison Park, Everton played their games at Anfield. Only after moving "Everton" was founded the famous "Liverpool". Prehistory

Initially, "Everton" was called "Saint Domingo" and was founded in 1878. The games were held at the Stanley Park stadium. Now he is between Goodison Park and Anfield Road. Immediately after the "introduction" the team from Liverpool began to receive substantial revenues from each meeting. By 1885, the team's revenue had increased to two hundred pounds in all fights. Nevertheless, in 1888 there was a conflict with the owner of the field. Until this year, the owner received from Everton a hundred pounds of rent annually. After the team took second place in the championship, the owner demanded a sum of two hundred pounds. In 1889, the team began to search for a new field for meetings.

Goodison Park

Soon the company was created, which engaged in raising funds for the purchase of a new stadium. A small area of land for the construction of the arena was purchased for 8,090 pounds. Soon enough, "toffee" moved to a new location, and the owner of "Anfield" began to establish a personal football club, which was to be called "Everton". Nevertheless, the Football League did not allow the already used name to be used, and the team created today is known as Liverpool.

Opening and first games

A year later, the leadership of Everton took the original decision - to place electric wires under the field. The 1966 World Championship was held in the UK. To prepare for the championship, the leadership of Everton bought out nearby buildings. All of them were subject to demolition. Reconstruction of 1971

A large construction site at Goodison Park was completed in 1971.
