Gamma in G major. G Major: sheet music

The tone of G major (G-dur, G-Major) is in music not only one of the simplest, but also the most in demand. This scale and its constituent basic notes are widely used by many musicians: from the Viennese classics to the present. The greatest distribution of G major was in guitarists and pianists. The fingering of the gamma, arpeggios and chords is quite simple. Even beginners can use it, not to mention the fact that G major with a parallel minor is just perfect for most people's voice data.

Key Marks and Notes

In the range of G major there is one key sign - "F-sharp". It means only that the pure note "fa" is played and sounds a half-tone higher. As in any major, in G major notes follow a single principle of gamma in the ratio of tones and semitones: tone-tone-semitone-tone-tone-tone-semitone.

The note "salt" plays the role of the main note or tonics. From it, and further construction of the scale. Thus, the whole gamma in G major looks in ascending order in the following sequence: salt (G) / la (A) / ci (H) / to (C) / re (D) / mi (E) / F-sharp (F #). As you know, the main steps in any key are the first (tonic), the fourth (subdominant) and the fifth (dominant). In our case, these are the notes "salt", "before" and "re". At the first stage a tonic triad (salt-si-re) is built, on the fourth - a subdominant triad (pre-mi-salt), and on the fifth - a subdominant triad (re-fa # -la). Accordingly, on these same levels, chords are composed, consisting of four notes. If the first two chords use the octave band in the construction, then in the third chord, called the dominantseptakord, there is a small septime, that is, the chord ends on a note "to" that joins the main dominant triad from above.

Types of G major in G major

Along with the main key sign in the scale there may be additional. First of all, it concerns varieties of major scales. In this case, the main key sign is used only in natural major. It is necessary to distinguish also the harmonic major, and the melodic major. As a rule, such scales in music are used infrequently, nevertheless they are able to give musical compositions mystery and psychedelic saturation.

In the harmonic major, the sixth step, that is, the note "mi," falls. In the melodic major there are already two lowered levels: the sixth and the seventh. The notes "mi" to "E flat" and "F-sharp" are reduced to a pure "fa".

Performance of chords on a pianoforte

People who are slightly acquainted with the pianoforte, difficulties in the performance of the scale or chords in the tonality of G major should not arise. The only thing that you should pay attention to is fingering. For example, the main triads are played using the first, third and fifth fingers on the right hand.

A full chord uses the first, second, third, and fifth fingers. The tone of G major, like other elements of harmony, implies special conversions of the main chords, in which the first note of the triad is transferred to an octave higher. As can be seen from the above, each triad has two calls.

Playing guitar chords

It's another thing when G major is playing the guitar. This instrument is characterized by its own specificity of construction of chords. As the simplest example, you can use the standard fingering, especially since the chord in G major itself is one of the simplest.

First we clamp the fifth string on the second harmony, then the sixth and the first string on the third fret. In this variant, you can also add a second string clamping on the third fret. In this form, in the chord instead of the note "si" on the second string there will be a note "re".

In addition, you can use to extract the chord in G major and the barre technique, when the first finger of the left hand completely covers the neck with all six strings on the third fret. Accordingly, further the third finger is clamped the third string on the fourth fret, the fifth string on the fifth fret and the fourth string on the sixth fret. In the case of playing the guitar, it should be borne in mind that the numeration of the fingers begins not with a large but with an index finger.

Parallel minor

This key as a parallel uses the E minor, in which there is exactly the same key sign. The difference in additional signs is manifested only in the construction of harmonic and melodic scales. Thus, in the E minor, unlike the majeure, the steps do not decrease, but increase by a half. In the harmonic minor, the seventh step is raised, and the gamma is played without any change in the enhancement. In a melodic minor, things are somewhat more complicated. When the gamut is played on the ascending, the sixth and seventh steps are raised, and in the descending game, pure notes are already used. If we show this by an example, the performance of the harmonic E-minor will look like this (up and down): mi-fa # -sol-la-si-do # -re # -mi-re (bekar) -to (bekar) -si -a-sol-pha-th. Becar in this case means the abolition of the use of the sign sharp (#), that is, a clear note sounds without a halftone increase.

Ease of use

As for the use of G major and E minor, such combinations can be found in many works. For example, in the classics very often there is a sonata in G major. The works of such a plan were written by Haydn, Bach, Mozart, Schubert, and others.

In our time, these two keys are mostly used by guitarists. Firstly, the combination of the main chords is very simple, and secondly, even beginning musicians begin to learn the chord technique from them. Well, and thirdly, these keys are universal for the female and male voices.

If you look at rock music, you can notice that even from the time of its birth when playing the guitar with quintets with a drive as the main ones, these chords and tonalities were used. It's only now bands performing Black Metal, Gothic Metal, Doom Metal or something like that have begun to rebuild their instruments into lower key types such as D minor or in minor. Classic rock, as a rule, is performed on the basis of quint-chords with a basis on the note "mi."

Conclusion

In general, the tone of G major is quite simple not only for learning, but also for mastering the technique of playing on many instruments. This is facilitated not only by the minimum content of key marks, but also by the ease of use in the music plan. Among other things, the main range of gamma can not be more suited to the basic range of a person's voice . However, this does not mean that you need to strictly follow the rules and use only those notes that are present in the key. Experiments can often lead to the most unexpected results, why the music will only benefit and become much more interesting.
