Prednisolone is a dehydrated analog of hydrocortisone. Biotransformation of prednisolone occurs by oxidation, mainly in the liver, where glucuronization or sulfatization of oxidized forms occurs. The ointment is applied to the lesions in an even layer 1-3 times / day. Duration of treatment is determined by the nature of the disease and usually lasts 8-14 days. When treatment with ointment for children, the term of treatment should be reduced to 3-7 days, since the children's organism is more sensitive to the drug "Prednisolone". The instruction recommends to refuse warming, fixing and occlusive bandages.

Application Features

Side effects

Usually the drug is well tolerated. Rarely, especially with prolonged use, itching, burning sensations, erythema are possible. In some patients, side effects can occur in the form of folliculitis, hypertrichosis, perioral dermatitis, allergic reactions to drug components. The above symptoms do not require treatment and are quickly eliminated when the drug is discontinued. Interaction with other drugs

Prednisolone has the property of enhancing the anticoagulant effect of anticoagulants. Increased the possibility of bleeding while taking salicylates. Increases the likelihood of metabolic disturbances of electrolytes with the simultaneous administration of diuretics. Increased risk of intoxication when using cardiac glycosides. The hypoglycemic effect of antidiabetic drugs decreases and the antibacterial activity of rifampicin decreases. It is not recommended to be used concomitantly with antacids.

Contraindications

Treatment with ointment "Prednisolone" instruction prohibits when:

Hypersensitivity;

- bacterial, viral, fungal skin lesions;

- tuberculosis, syphilis, skin tumors, pregnancy, common acne and rosacea.

Overdose

Cases of overdose are unknown.

Storage conditions

Store under list B, at a temperature of 5-15ºС. Shelf life - 2 years. Do not use after the expiry date .
