Fashionable genre in art: metaphysical painting, poetry and photography

The word "metaphysics" was probably heard by many. It is believed that metaphysics is the most that neither is true philosophy, that is, the science of the principles of being and supersensory principles. In other words, it means everything that can not be explained with the help of the laws of physics.

So, for example, in fine art there is such a thing as metaphysical painting. Its founder was the Italian artist Giorgio de Chirico. Staying in 1913-1914gg. In Paris, he painted urban desert landscapes. However, these were not standard academic landscapes. In these paintings, something futuristic, conditional, distorted slipped. The further, the more his works became surreal and strange, devoid of any logic, despite the fact that the objects themselves were depicted quite realistically. Thus, by 1922, a whole movement appeared, in which artists, writers and poets participated, distinguished by the originality and non-standard nature of their creations.

Metaphysical painting is a distorted perspective, unnatural lighting, strange images, statues and mannequins instead of people ... The combination of all this with the photographic accuracy of the depicted objects often suggests the "normality" of the authors of such paintings. This genre has something in common with surrealism. The only difference is that, unlike surrealism, metaphysical painting does not call for someone to understand what exactly is pictured in the picture. It can be said that this is a meaningless and incoherent set of incomprehensible symbols and objects. In surrealism, every corner of the canvas literally screams: "Unscramble me!" Both of these genres are similar in their magical atmosphere. Looking at such pictures, it creates the feeling that you are in some strange dream or see hallucinations.

Approximately the same sensations are capable of evoking a metaphysical picture. The most authoritative photographer-metaphysician is Alexander Slyusarev. They imitate him, study his works, admire him. He had his own vision of the world, his own style. But what kind of genre is it? Is it possible to photograph something in such a way that it is simultaneously abstract, philosophical, and unusual? In the end, this is not a metaphysical painting with imaginary images. But the practice showed that you can take a picture. It does not matter what exactly you shoot. The important thing is how you do it. You can take a brick wall so that once you see its photo, you will not forget it. Photographers-metaphysics are looking for something unusual in the ordinary: they pick unusual angles, lighting, play of light-shades, unexpected relationships among objects, etc. The picture can be as simple as possible and, at first glance, even boring. But if there is something invisible in it that literally "catches", bewitches, it means that he can claim genius.

But not only in painting and photography there is metaphysics. It is not devoid of poetry. Poems written in this genre are literally "stuffed" with a multitude of metaphors and philosophical reasoning. Often, metaphysical poetry is permeated with God-seeking, religious sentiments. In such verses, nature replaces the temple, and earthly passions are contrasted with intense contemplation. Any life phenomenon for a poet-metaphysician has a mystical, hidden, secret meaning, which is his main task. However, there are also amateurs of writing amusing, intricate and even paradoxical poems that more closely resemble unfolded aphorisms.
