Family traditions

The family is five simple letters, behind which lies a huge meaning, uniting such different, but very close people who love each other despite everything, trust and appreciate. Each family has its own small, unshakable traditions, secrets and moments of joy that you want to spend in a close circle.

Family traditions bring together, give warmth and comfort, warm on cold winter evenings. And it does not matter what these little rituals are: festive feasts, a glass of wine at dinner, dinner at a big table, joint viewing of photos, films, going to the cinema, to the theater, etc., all this undoubtedly unites us and captures these moments in Our long-term memory.

What family traditions are there? Traditions can be, as national, and local, at each family the. That is why, we often wonder or come to a loss when we are allowed to penetrate or take part in someone's family rituals. For example, you looked at your friends, and they all gathered in a bathhouse. All right, they have such a tradition, once a week to visit the steam room. Or, every Saturday you bake cakes, and your relatives are already looking forward to the onset of the long-awaited weekend to try another culinary masterpiece in your personal performance.

Family traditions are rarely violated if the family is strong and prosperous, and often betrayed from generation to generation. A lot of small family holidays, recipes, events, rituals, we inherited from their parents and will necessarily pass them on to their children with some personal adjustments.

Family traditions in different countries. Of course, each nation has its own picture of what is happening around, respectively, the national mentality, and family traditions in different countries. For example, in our country the most important family holiday in the year is the New Year. In the west, people are most prepared for Christmas and Thanksgiving and celebrate them in a close family circle. Russian people are very attached to the family and can not imagine a holiday without a noisy feast.

For example, the Scandinavians to family ties and kinship ties are relatively cold and most holidays do not even invite each other, confining themselves to making a phone call.

Swedes raise children as free independent personalities, avoiding corporal punishment, which is even prohibited by law, unlike in France, where the child's upbringing takes place under rather authoritarian conditions.

As for the family structure, if in Russia it is customary to conclude official marriages and having a stamp in the passport, many women believe that life has succeeded, then, for example in Sweden, Norway, France, no one strives for a legal union and prefers civil marriage and official independence .

For comparison, southern Europeans, Portuguese and Romanians, on the contrary, because of their excessive emotionality, refer to the family as the most expensive thing they have, men provide a family, and holidays are held in the compulsory presence of all relatives. Family traditions are especially important for these nations.

Families of Asia are very sensitive to the traditions and rituals inherited from their ancestors. For example, the Japanese still perform wedding ceremonies, worship their deceased ancestors, honor the elders, respect the parents and the elderly very respectfully. Marriage in Japan is often not for love, but for calculation, with material benefits for both sides. A child for them is a sacred and inviolable being, right down to adulthood, a person who must be respected and listened to.

Despite the fact that each nation on our planet has its own unique characteristics and family customs, we all share one thing - the desire to give unlimited love and warmth to close people, whom they sometimes so lack.
