In our country road building workers officially began to celebrate their professional holiday after the head of state in early November 1996 initiated the creation of an appropriate decree. Four years later, the Road Worker Day in Russia began to celebrate every third Sunday in October.

On this day, all those who in practice are engaged in the arrangement and maintenance of roads, as well as the construction of highways and bridges, receive greetings. It is thanks to road maintenance workers in our country that there is (albeit not everywhere) a quality and secure road network linking various Russian regions among themselves.

Some may ask the question: "How relevant is the introduction in Russia of such a holiday as Day of a road worker?". The answer is quite simple: in our country there is a process of active development of road infrastructure. The age of high technologies and the increase in demand for a car as a means of transportation contributed to a cardinal renewal of tasks that had previously been put before the road industry. Undoubtedly, this increased the range of rights and duties of employees engaged in the above area of activity.
