Cowberry storage does not require long preparation. Berry contains a large number of acids, which do not allow it to spoil long. Therefore, fresh in the refrigerator or just in a cool room, it can lie up to one month. Of course, it is somewhat more difficult to prepare lingonberries for the winter. You can freeze it for free either with sugar or with sugar, make a delicious stock or cook jam. You will not regret - cranberries contain a huge amount of vitamins, trace elements and acids that help to support immunity in winter and adults and children. Also, fresh or grated with sugar, the berry is an excellent remedy for colds. When the first signs of the disease appear, just drink hot tea with jam, cover with a warm blanket to get a good sweat, and for the morning of illness, as it has not happened.

A great way, which does not require any special time, is simply to freeze the berry in the freezer. Wash and clean the cranberries, dry them. After a smooth layer put on a tray or plates and send to the freezer. After a couple of hours, the berry can be spread out in packets or boxes in small portions, and then sent back to the refrigerator. In the winter, defrosting the berry, you can boil it with jelly, mors or rub with sugar. Also very popular is cowberry sauce, the recipe of which came to us from Scandinavia - there it is served to game or simply to meat.

Naturally, with any heat treatment, berries lose some of their nutrients. Therefore, the second most popular way of harvesting them for future use is a stock that does not need to be cooked. For him you will need fresh berries (1 kilogram) and as much sugar or slightly more if you are very fond of sweet. Cowberry must be washed, peeled off of twigs and leaves, covered with sugar and mixed. You have the right to wait a few hours or a night, the berry will give juice, but you can do it immediately. Prepared mass whisk in a blender or twisted through a meat grinder, mix well and pour over sterilized jars. After they need to be rolled up and put in a cool place for storage. Due to the large content of acids, such a cowberry reserve can stand quite a long time - a year or more. In winter, you can prepare from it a vitamin drink - just stir a tablespoon of jam in a glass of water, add honey and drink. Thus, you will provide the body with useful substances and support immunity in the cold season.

Cowberry storage is usually not a problem, and from a variety of ways you can choose the preparation of jam. Take as a basis here is a recipe - it is classic, but to taste you can add apples, oranges or cinnamon to berries, it will turn out just as delicious. For one kilogram of cranberries you will need a kilogram or slightly more sugar. Wash the berries, go through them, put them in a cooking bowl and sand with sand, let stand for a while - it should give juice. After put the pan on the stove, bring to a boil and simmer for half an hour already. Do not worry if the jam turned liquid - after cooling it will thicken a little. Done - lay the workpiece over the jars, seal the lids and send for storage. You will not regret if there are cranberries among your stocks: storing berries is rather unpretentious - supplies do not deteriorate very long even at room temperature, and in winter with it you will support the body with useful vitamins, which are so many in its composition.
