Heavy horse horses: breeds

Horses-heavy trucks are used for various kinds of agricultural work for hundreds of years. Once, before the advent of the car, they were indispensable, in particular - when carrying heavy loads. Only about thirty breeds of these hardy animals have been bred by breeders. In our country, mainly, three are distributed: Soviet, Russian and Vladimir heavy-duty trucks.

Vladimir heavy truck

This breed was bred in 1946 by crossing local adapted horses with two English breeds of Shiir and Kleidesdale. The selection was carried out by specialists of the breeding farms of the Ivanovo and Vladimir regions. As a result, a breed of heavy-horse horses with excellent exterior and remarkable performance characteristics was obtained. It is an animal of bay suits with a large, long head, a high withers, a muscular neck and a broad back that can sometimes be soft. The legs of this breed are long and dryish, most often with good overgrownness.

Horse-heavy horses of Vladimir breed differ in excellent temperament and look good in triplets, thanks to their sweeping movements both in trot and in step.

Russian heavyweights

The breeding of these animals began more than a hundred years ago. As a result of crossing the Belgian Ardennes with various breeds, a long-lived horse with a very high fertility turned out. Russian heavy-hauler differs unpretentiousness both in care and in feeding. Especially interesting is the experience of using these animals in the steppe regions of Kazakhstan and Buryatia. Here they were crossed with local adapted breeds, which gave an excellent result. They are used for heavy agricultural work.

Heavy horse horses of the Russian breed are distinguished by a small head, wide withers and back, dry, short legs. The predominant color is red. Due to their small height at the withers, these animals possess excellent harness qualities and are especially appreciated for endurance and mobility.

Soviet heavyweights

These heavy horses were obtained as a result of breeding work with Belgian Brabansons and local draft breed. Brabansons are quite interesting animals. They were used in ancient times. They knew about this breed in the Middle Ages. Brabansons took part in knight competitions and wars.

The Soviet breed is characterized by precocity and truly heroic endurance. It was recognized in 1952. Some horses can carry loads of up to 20 tons. This animal, thanks to its obedient and good-natured disposition, can be managed even by women and children. The color is mostly red or chalaya. The head has an average size, the withers and the back are wide. The legs of this breed are medium-long, dry. The back can sometimes be soft.

For people who have never seen heavy vehicles before, they produce a truly indelible impression - mainly by their size and muscularity.
