Temperature after vaccination: is it dangerous?

For several centuries there has been vaccination of the population. It is conducted with the purpose of increasing the ability of the immune system to fight against viruses and infections, which affects every person for the rest of his life.

The system of public health has identified a number of vaccinations that any person should receive. Ignoring routine vaccination makes the body weaker and unable to withstand many serious diseases persistently. This negligent attitude towards one's own health can even lead to death. The vaccination process is especially important for young children, since their immune system is not yet strong and has not been fully formed. It is for this reason that children often get fever after vaccination.

In fact, the vaccine does not pose any danger to humans, it only causes the immune defense to activate and begin to produce antibodies, that is, to fight the disease. The temperature after vaccination is considered a normal reaction of the body, which indicates that the process of producing antibodies is started. In an adult, such a reaction (temperature increase) is rare. This is due to the fact that his body is more robust and resistant to many diseases.

Since the child's immune protection is at the stage of formation, there is almost always a slightly elevated temperature after vaccination. A qualified pediatrician always follows this process, he is also obliged to warn parents of the consequences. This condition can last for several days. However, to give up vaccination because of this is very stupid. After all, each vaccine includes only that rate of infected cells that the immune system can defeat. It is better, for example, to experience that the temperature after the measles vaccination has increased than the possible infection in the future (which can be accompanied not only by temperature, but also by various complications).

After vaccination, the immune system begins to produce antibodies to get rid of the pathogen and prevent it from developing. Thus, the body's ability to protect itself from viruses and infections grows or, as it is customary to say in medical practice, stable immunity is produced. That is, even with contact with the infected, the possibility of catching the disease exists, but it is minimal (we are talking, of course, about those ailments against which the vaccination was carried out). And if vaccinated and ill, then the disease will take place in a much lighter form.

In addition to the fact that there is a high temperature after vaccination, a person may experience general weakness, lethargy, it tends to sleep. In some cases, there is a strong fever, then you should help the body and drink any remedy that lowers body temperature (optimally based on paracetamol or ibuprofen).

Caring parents before vaccination should prepare their child, that is, to check if he is allergic to the components of the drug being administered or a chronic infection. If the baby has only recently been ill (even with a cold disease), then the vaccination should be postponed to a later date. The state of the cardiovascular system can be the determining factor, because of which it is simply dangerous to vaccinate, so a thorough examination should be done on time.

Thus, if the temperature has increased after vaccination, then the process of producing antibodies has begun in the body. But you should not expect an instant effect. Strong immunity can not appear in just a few days. The usual process of recovery after vaccination lasts several months. During this time, the child should be protected from hypothermia, from contact with sick people, from any sources of infection. In order to help him to get back to normal, you can choose a complex of vitamins, and you also need to feed your baby with only natural products that contain useful substances in large quantities.
