Selection and preparation of raw materials

When choosing raw materials for production of moonshine at home, it is necessary to pay attention to its availability. So, for example, if you brew homemade moonshine from starch, then its output will be one and a half liters from the kilogram of raw materials used. The process of fermentation

The quantity and quality of the final product also depends on how the fermentation takes place. To do this, it is necessary to maintain the optimum temperature, it should be between eighteen and twenty-four degrees Celsius. In this case, it is necessary to strictly observe the proportions of the ingredients, since insufficient amount of sugar will lead to the fact that the fermentation process will proceed very slowly. Therefore, it is recommended to use sugar, yeast and water in a ratio of 1: 0.1: 3. This proportion is used for many types of feedstock. Distillation is considered to be the process of heating the liquid to a boil with further condensation of vapors. Primary distillation allows to get rid of fusel oils and other impurities. Before cleaning, the moonshine must be diluted with distilled water to 40 or 45 degrees, as the higher the percentage of alcohol, the stronger it retains various impurities. Water is recommended to use high-quality water. Its amount will depend on the strength of alcohol. Usually take 1 liter of vodka 500 grams of water. Cleaning of moonshine soda helps remove fusel oils from alcohol. It is taken from the calculation of 8 grams per liter of alcohol. Baking soda can quickly neutralize acetic acid. It is added to the moonshine after the first distillation from the calculation of 1 gram (1/3 teaspoon) per 1 liter of alcohol. Cleaning of moonshine with soda and manganese helps to obtain a quality alcoholic beverage without foreign smells and impurities. For each liter of vodka, take 10 grams of washing soda, mix and put on for half an hour, after which add a solution of potassium permanganate from the calculation of 2 grams per 50 grams of water and 1 liter of alcohol. Half an hour later, add the soda in the same proportions and leave for 12 hours. After a while, the liquid is drained and distilled, diluted with distilled water.

Filters for cleaning moonshine

After the second distillation, the moonshine is filtered and bottled. The simplest filter is prepared in the following way: three layers of gauze or cloth are placed in a funnel of a large size, then the cotton wool is placed, poured clean sand is poured on top, and then gauze is put again. If the layer of sand is two centimeters, the filtration will take place in half a liter of vodka per hour. You can apply such filters for cleaning moonshine, which purify water. You can buy them at any specialized store. They are installed in distillers in front of a container for the assembly of moonshine.

Damage to vodka soda cleaning

Many believe that the cleaning of moonshine can be harmed by a human body. But this is only if you consume alcohol directly with this powder (when cleaning after the second distillation). In order for this product not to remain in alcohol, there is a second distillation. In addition, when using soda and potassium permanganate, it can be achieved that the alcoholic beverage will be free from extraneous odors and fusel oils.

Cleaning the moonshine with oil

This method also contributes to the elimination of fusel oil in brew. For this purpose, a refined vegetable oil that is odorless is suitable. So, the alcohol is diluted to 30 degrees, add vegetable oil (20 grams per liter of vodka), shake well for three minutes three times, making small breaks. Cleaning the moonshine with oil helps to get a cloudy color of the drink. It is left until two layers are formed (the oil will float upward). This takes about 12 hours. Then the liquid is poured into a different container through a filter (how to do this, we considered above) and again distilled.
