Causes of vomiting in children and adults

Vomiting is one of the most common symptoms of various diseases. As a rule, these are disorders in the digestive tract, mechanical damage to the head, and others. This phenomenon is characterized by the release of the contents of the stomach outside.

Of course, the causes of vomiting in children can be very diverse. And the smaller the age of the baby, the more frequent seizures occur even after a slight overeating. It should be noted that with blood cells in the vomit, it is necessary to check the stomach of the child, as this may indicate the presence of peptic ulcer or portal hypertension.

If the causes of vomiting in children are hidden in poor-quality food, then it is advisable to completely exclude them from the diet so that the body can recover. As a rule, food poisoning is accompanied by an increase in body temperature, a violation of the stool, feverish attacks. Therefore, it is necessary to show the child to a specialist, in order to avoid negative consequences. Particular attention should be given if vomiting does not occur for a long period of time.

There are other causes of vomiting in children. For example, with chronic diseases of the brain and membranes (hydrocephalus, encephalitis, various tumors, meningitis), attacks do not bring relief to a person, so the body begins to lose strength and weaken. As a rule, a child feels weak in the limbs, wants to sleep, the pulse becomes more rare and weak.

Also, the causes of vomiting in children can be against a catarrhal disease of the upper respiratory tract. Very often the child begins to cough, which causes involuntary vomiting. This is due to the fact that some diseases (bronchitis, pharyngitis, whooping cough) lead to the formation of sputum, which constitutes the bulk of the secreted masses.

If the causes of vomiting are not fully revealed, then medication should not be used, as this can aggravate the situation, and the doctor will not be clear about the origin of the disease. With continuous vomiting, there are significant changes in the body: metabolic processes are violated, useful salts are lost.

Of course, vomiting in the baby should not be left without attention. Periodic regurgitation does not pose a threat to the life of the baby if they are not accompanied by painful sensations, restless behavior of the child, which does not pass, but, on the contrary, intensifies. It should be noted that when regurgitating a small part of the food that came into the body at the last feeding. In no case should you throw your head, as vomit can get into the respiratory tract. Typically, it is recommended to put the baby on any side, immediately clean the nasal and oral passage from the masses. And after each feeding it is recommended to keep the baby in an upright position, which significantly reduces the risk of regurgitation.

First-aid at home with the appearance of vomiting involves the use of simple means that effectively remove intoxication of the body and contribute to the normalization of the condition. For example, the most famous drug is activated charcoal, which must be powdered and allowed to drink to the injured person. The dose is calculated taking into account the mass (1 tablet per 10 kg of weight). With more severe poisoning, the dose can be increased, since activated charcoal does not harm the human body.

The adult is advised to immediately do the washing, children can only be supervised by a specialist. It is better to give abundant drink: for 1 liter of water, you should add half a teaspoon of salt and a pinch of soda. Any antiemetics are prescribed only by a doctor after the patient is examined.
